Blues skipper Paul Thirlwell
United skipper Paul Thirlwell spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria on Friday evening ahead of tomorrow's match at home to Leeds United, Thirlwell chatting about the lightning pace of new Blues loan signing Jennison Myrie-Williams :

" I think that Leeds gives an extra tingle, you would be lying if you said that it wasn't the case. A bit more so in the size of the club, the Leeds and the Leicesters are obviously massive clubs and they bring big followings, which in turn gives big crowds for us. So I would imagine, I don't know how many are gong to be there tomorrow but I am sure that we will be in double figures and really looking forward to it.

" Touch wood I'm over the injury but don't speak too soon. No problems whatsoever so far though, it is just nice to get a good pre-season in, and I think that it is eight games we have had now so to play every minute has been really good and really enjoyable. Thankfully we have got off to a good start as well.

" It sounds like a stupid thing to say but the only setback at Scunthorpe was the result. I think that it is, well maybe not by far, but definitely the best we have played this season in terms of possession of the ball and chances created. The only thing that we didn't do on the day was put them away but to be fair to the lads who were playing upfront, they have been doing it for all season up until that point. Other than the ball actually hitting the back of the net we were sort of very pleased with the way that we had played.

" Albeit probably one of the most frustrating games that I have ever played in looking back at it now. You still wonder now how we haven't won the game, but there you go, it is just one of those things. I think that if we can put on the same kind of play tomorrow as we did last week then I am sure that we have got every chance of winning the game.

" We just usually cane the new signings when they come in to be honest. We just give them a good battering, bed them in and let them crack on. I think that he (Jennison Myrie-Williams) knows Richard Keogh obviously from Bristol City, he has been fine, he has been as good as gold. He has come in, he has joined in with the lads, and he has worked hard. Like Greg (Abbott) says, he has got lightning pace, a bit like myself, I think that there is only me and him who are that quick in the club.

" He looks good so I am sure that he will bring something a little bit different. That is what we have got now, we have got a fantastic squad of players now in terms of the eleven we can put out. Then we have probably got another eleven waiting to come on, so the lads know that they need to stay on their toes to be in the side. "
