New Robins manager Paul Sturrock, who was speaking to Swindon's Official Website, talked about Town's FA Cup won over the Blues this afternoon, the ex-Sheffield Wednesday boss chatting about what he thought of the performances of some of his new players :

"I was very pleased with the shape, workrate and attitude of the players today. We now have a big league game on us next weekend at Torquay and hopefully we can carry that on. We have tried to make sure that the wingers know to get the ball straight into the box and we want to be known as a crossing team.

"I thought (Ricky) Shakes did very well at times and he tried to get himself into the right areas. There is still work to do overall as a team but Carlisle are a decent side and they won League Two by a canter last season. Royce Brownlie also had a good game and we decided to let Royce have a run with Lee Peacock out overcoming a virus. Aaron Brown picked up a slight hamstring strain but Sofiane (Zaaboub) did ok. He got up and down and he showed that he wants to come into the ball, but it was a confident debut for him.

"I'd love a home tie in the next round so we will wait and see what the draw brings up. We really need the backing of the crowd in the league games so hopefully we will have a few more for the Bury game here in two weeks. Hopefully we can get a result in the next round and then get a big team back here.

"John (Blackley) sat in the stands for the game and Kevin (Summerfield) and I were in the dugout. There wasn't too much that annoyed me but it was a confident performance. Everybody that didn't play today will play against Salisbury City on Tuesday night because we really need to have a look at the players. There maybe some of our loan players coming back too because we need to have a peak at what they can do."
