United centre-half Paul Reid spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he talked about the 2-1 defeat at home to Southend United, Reid saying that it is still up to Doncaster to get past the Blues :

" It's been a nightmare day for me, obviously with me getting injured and having to come off at half-time and the team losing 2-1. I knew that I was playing yesterday, so I've thought about the game since yesterday and to be honest it couldn't have gone any worse for me personally, and we ended up getting beat 2-1.

" I think I agree with Thir (Paul Thirlwell), they just played the conditions better in the first-half. I thought that they hooked the ball on well and played it in the channels better than we did. It wasn't until half-time that we changed it up a little bit and started looking a bit more threatening. I go by my first reactions on the sending-off, when it actually happened it wasn't in my mind that it was going to be a red card. I didn't expect it all, even when I saw the referee go into his pocket I thought yellow, and even then it was slightly harsh, so I didn't expect a red at all.

" Like Thir says, we're obviously disappointed about today but we can't sweep it under the carpet. I don't think that we performed as well as could have done today. We need to lift that for Millwall away on Saturday, but on a positive side we are two points clear with two games to go. We are in a great position and it's still in our hands and it's still up to us to go and win it. If you gave us this position six months ago then we would have snapped your hand off. So that's the way we've got to look at it now, we've got two games left, two points clear, it's up to Doncaster to beat us. "
