Paul DickovLatics boss Paul Dickov spoke to the official Oldham website and BBC Radio Manchester ahead of his side's League One match against Carlisle at Brunton Park tomorrow, Dickov thinking the Latics should be higher in the division than their current 12th place :

"We are there or thereabouts but I am disappointed we are not further up the table because I believe we ought to have six more points. As long as we keep going along as we are doing picking up positive results and cutting out the inconsistent performances, we will be within touching distance and quietly sneaking up the table. We want to be in the mix and are close to it. However, things may change on Saturday. If we don't get a positive result, we will be left chasing our tails once again, and I don't want that to happen.

"It will be a tough game as we had two really close ones against them last season, we drew at their place and were unlucky not to win and they beat us at our place and deservedly so. And it was similar this season in the Carling Cup when it needed penalties to separate us. They had a fantastic result in midweek. Greg Abbott and Graham Kavanagh have got them playing some really good football, he has got a team of players who want to play for him and who know their system as well and work ever so hard  for him, especially at home.

“I know the threat Lee Miller will pose and he is scoring goals for Carlisle which is a plus. When he plays well, Carlisle invariably do and he will be a big threat to us. So, it is a tough, tough place to go, but we have to take the confidence and momentum we have built in the last two games and take that into Saturday's game, because we are not a bad team when we do that.

“I don't want third-game syndrome again, too many times this year after having really good results, back-to-back results and performances, we have let ourselves down in the third, so I am going to make sure that doesn’t happen on Saturday.  Our away form has been good, not just the character we have shown, we have been to Scunthorpe twice and won this year, we have been away to Leyton Orient and won, we have been away to Walsall on a midweek and won and they are all tough places to go. I just want the players to have the belief and to realise that we have got a decent chance this year.”
