United boss Neil McDonald spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's James Phillips on Saturday afternoon as he gave his opinion on the all-action 0-0 draw away to Nottingham Forest :

" We've come to a place like this, and the players do believe in themselves, but they are probably the best team we have played in the first-half, they passed it well, they got behind us and created chances. They've got a penalty, we've saved a penalty but then again in the second-half I thought that we totally dominated the game.

" We're in the changing-room for the first time this season and I'm disappointed with a point. That's how far we've come and we're beginning now to be a very, very difficult team to try and break down and I think that shows with the goals against that we've conceded. We still need to put the ball into the back of the net to win games though and that is the only difference at the minute. The only improvement that I'm looking for is to put the ball in back of the net because we've had chances again in the second-half.

" We hit the crossbar as well with a header, I think that to go to Bradford and totally dominate the second-half and to come here against former European champions and do the same is excellent. We've competed with the best team in the league, because they are the best team in the league at the moment because they are top of it. We've competed with them and we've dominated them in the second-half, so let's keep our feet on the ground but let's also rejoice at what we've done over the last week or so.

" We controlled the midfield, we wanted to try and double up and force the issue in the second-half. We've come to a place like this, and yeah okay we can't dominate for 90 minutes – we're the away team don't forget, but to try and reflect after the game it's disappointing to only get a point. I think that's how far we've come, that's the first time this season I've been disappointed with a point. I'll still take a point though, it keeps the run going, we're still unbeaten in a certain amount and we've still got another point, over the two games we're a point closer to Nottingham Forest because they lost their first game.

" He (David Raven) had a tight groin at half-time anyway so we were slightly concerned with that, then he's taken a knock on his ankle, his groin is worse than his ankle is but we've got an able replacement in Paul Arnison. He came on and still forced the issue down the right-hand side so we're well pleased with the people who are ready to step in.

" No injuries apart from that today, everybody is fit, everybody is well, and we move on to London for our next trip, it keeps on getting bigger and long may it continue. To be fair I'm not particularly sure what team Charlton might put out, Charlton should beat Carlisle United, Carlisle are in League One, Charlton are full of internationals, Charlton should beat Carlisle United but you never know do you."
