United vice-captain Peter Murphy spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday afternoon as he gave his opinion on the 1-1 draw at home to Northampton Town. Murphy emphasizing the need for the players to take things one game at a time with some hard matches coming up :

" It was a very tough game and a very hard-fought game, I think that Northampton did their homework on us, they came here to stop us playing in the midfield, and that is where we like to get on the ball and make a few passes. The second-half was better for us but unfortunately we got hit with a sucker punch of a goal, they didn't really open us up at any other time in the game. It was just unfortunate with that goal and we showed our character as a team to come back and score, but unfortunately we didn't take any of the other chances that we created.

" Their goal spurred us on as well because as I said it was a sucker punch, so the lads all got together, I'm sure that you could see that out there, everybody was trying to get the goal back which we did and we pushed on from there. Karl Hawley had another couple of chances but unfortunately he didn't take them, he's getting into the areas to get those chances though, so another day it'll come and we'll get the win, we still didn't lose today though so that is a positive.

" Paul Murray had a couple of chances in the first-half, and then even for our goal he made a great sliding tackle in the box that made the ball drop for Karl Hawley, he had a great performance today and hopefully he'll carry it on. We'd have accepted fifth in the division so far certainly, because everybody is working to see what the results are and any points that we can pick up. It's not an easy league by any stretch, you've just got to work hard to pick up any point that you can. Like today after the game all the players were sitting in the changing room disappointed that we only got a point but you've got to look at where we have come from.

" It has been a great start to the season, and that point is a very good point as well going in to two tough away games. The next game is the most important game so that is all that we can look forward to, the players just look at the next game, I'm sure the management and all that will be looking for things and tactics, but I'm not a manager. The players have just got to look to go to the next game, see if we are fresh enough and see if we can pick up the points, then we've just got to take the next game as it comes.

" The players weren't really saying anything at the end because we were disappointed, everybody was sitting there very sombre at the fact that we could have won the game. The manager (Neil McDonald) has come in though and said that we went for it today, and hadn't played as well as we have done in the last few games but we still got the point. We haven't lost, and it's a tough league, I've just said what the manager has just said, it keeps us in fifth and we'll try and keep it going. "
