United's most recent loan signing, in left-back Michael Liddle from Sunderland, spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey after Carlisle's 3-1 home win over Brighton, Liddle clearly excited about his first start in senior football :

" Making your debut is something special, just to get that buzz when you see your name on the back of that shirt and your number, and just putting it over your head. It is something special, especially for the first time, coming out of the tunnel and all the fans are there, there is nothing like it really, it is just something special.

" All the lads are buzzing in the dressing-room, I have only been there for a day now and the crack is flowing, I am young so I am getting battered off the lads and that. It is good that the crack is there though and everyone is in good spirits. Now hopefully we will just stay like that from now on and push on.

" To be honest the crowd kept me going, the adrenaline of making a debut, the lads all pushing you on, the crowd shouting. The crowd were magnificent tonight, today I mean, it's dark, I'm getting confused. They were magnificent today and when you hear them roaring you dig that bit deeper, push on and give everything that you have got and just keep going.

" Some bits aren't clear but I will remember it just for the rush of the match and the pace. You are not going to remember everything but you remember most of it. You remember the crowd, you remember the win, you remember the good performance and they are the good things to remember, that is what it is all about.

" I would have been glad to make the trip to Grays. I wish I could be going down there to play again, I just want to play more games now. After getting a taste of it I just want to play more games, I don't care if I am playing tomorrow, I would happily go back out and play again. I am here until the 3rd of January and there is a game at home, I forget who it is against (Walsall) but that will be my last game on this contract anyway, we'll see how it goes from there.

" You come into a new club and at first you are wondering what the lads are going to think of you and are you going to get on with them and talk to them. I came into the dressing-room here and all the lads straight away were just asking how I was and cracking onto me and that. It is just a great atmosphere in the dressing-room to be honest, I can't wait for next Saturday now. "
