Steve Evans, who was speaking exclusively to Boston United's official club website www.bufc.co.uk, talked about his side's capitulation against Carlisle whilst defender Alan White issued an apology for the performance :

"It was a dreadful performance in the second half. In the first period, we played some excellent football and should have been in front. We asked the lads to continue with this in the second half, but we lacked energy, shape, passion and movement.

“I would however say that the reception Simon Rusk got from the fans when we substituted him was disgraceful. No player deserves that type of treatment and we all feel for him. He is a young player who pound for pound has been the best player at this club over the last four or five years and it was disgusting.

“We cannot excuse our performance, but in football, you must move on quickly and we have another tough game in 48 hours. Some will question if we have the tenacity to bounce back, but I believe in the boys and a win will help ease the pain.

“The players have taken responsibility and want to put it right, so the sooner Saturday comes, the better.”

Central-defender Alan White, who was speaking to the Lincolnshire Echo, commented :

"I can only apologise to the people who had to pay and watch that rubbish. We were found wanting all over the pitch - and there are no excuses for that.

"We didn't compete, we were off the pace and didn't pass the ball properly - everything that could go wrong did go wrong during the second half last night. It's very disappointing, especially after we had won our previous two matches."
