Millers manager Mark Robins spoke to BBC Radio Sheffield after his side's 1-0 defeat against Carlisle at Millmoor this afternoon that put the final nail in Rotherham's relegation coffin, Robins talking about the huge rebuilding job that will need to take place in the summer :

" Relegation has been coming hasn't it and to lose today I thought was a travesty. I thought we could have won that game three times over, I'm very, very disappointed in the manner that we have lost the game. It was a poor free-kick to give away and then they've had the rub of the green as well. Really though we should have been out of sight at half-time and if you don't stick the ball in the back of the net then whatever happens you are at risk of conceding at the other end. How many times do you see it, teams on top and end up losing 1-0?

" The ten point deduction was a massive blow to start with but we had to do that. We overcame that and then results obviously started to go a little bit awry and we found ourselves in a dire position. All credit to the lads, over the last ten games they have battled and worked and obviously the confidence is starting to come back. It's a big rebuilding job but we've got three games to close out the end of the season and the pressure is off them to some extent now. They've got to play to stay here until the end of the season and that doesn't change.

" The losing streak started before the sale of Lee Williamson and Will Hoskins so it is difficult to comment on it, I was with the youth team at the time so I only saw the home games which makes it difficult to comment on. I can only comment on from when I took over and I've had a great response. If confidence had been like that, and we could have got it back a bit sooner then who knows. It was always a tall order, at the back of your mind you are thinking about maybe playing next season in a lower division.

" That's where we'll find ourselves next season and we've got to bounce back, it's looking forward, planning for that campaign and making sure that we are in the top part of the table and not the bottom. We need some players with passion, desire and commitment to play for this football club, you've seen that over the last few games, it's going to be a big job, a big rebuilding job. You're going to need a bit of luck on the way as well, obviously there are a lot of people scrambling for signatures of players and we've got to make sure we're on the ball and encourage and entice people to come and play for us.

" Allied to the players we are going to have under contract here next season, we've got to demand a push for promotion, plans are in place and they will continue, it's as simple as that. It remains to be seen who will leave, we've got to sit down and talk to people. Once we've done that then we'll know a little bit more and you get your plans afoot. We'll wait for that though, I've got to sit down, we've got three games left of the season. Planning and rebuilding has been going on for a little while, we've got thoughts in our minds and now we've got to put that into action.

" It's not about me, it's about the club and getting us off to the right start when I took the reins. The players have shown that and it's only about what you put out on the pitch. At the end of the day the lads have shown great desire and commitment, I can't fault them today for effort. All I can say is that we need that cutting edge and that decisiveness in front of goal. That's all we lacked today, if we can add that then we've got a hell of a chance next season. "
