Town boss, Brian Horton, who was speaking exclusively to Macclesfield's official club website, www.mtfc.premiumtv.co.uk, talks about the game last night and bemoans the away goals rule:

"I thought the lads were fantastic, they did everything that I asked of them. We took the game to them and there were some very good performances. Matty McNeil was outstanding, he scored a goal and put us 2-0 up.

"I thought we played some good football, it's just a bit disappointing. When you look back now and think away goals count double after extra time it means they have an extra 30 minutes to score. I think it's a pretty bad rule, if it's after extra time then it should be penalties in my opinion.

"We've just got to keep our heads up now and take it into the League, to score four goals against the team at the top of the League can't be knocked at. In fact, we've scored six against them in two home games.

"I think everyone is bitterly disappointed, we were so close but then so far away. We've got to take the positives out of it now, but I think that everyone is feeling low this morning. I felt for the players after the way they performed last, they created some good chances. Maybe the only criticism is that we didn't take those chances."
