Blues midfielder Luke Joyce
United midfielder Luke Joyce spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey this week about his current situation at Brunton Park, Joyce talking about his successful recent loan spell at Holker Street with Barrow :

" I had a great time there, I loved it, the two standout games were obviously the Brentford game and the Middlesbrough game, which were both great games and I both really enjoyed playing in. The lads were great, Dave (Bayliss) and Shez (Darren Sheridan) were great, I had a really good time there and I really enjoyed it.

" I have already spoken to Greg (Abbott) and he has said that it is going to take a few injuries or whatever if I am going to get in again. So I am sort of on the lookout to see if there is anywhere else to go on loan maybe in the Football League. If not then I think that there is probably a good chance that I would go back to Barrow.

" It's still a good standard and most of the players have played in the Football League. People think that they are part-time clubs but most of them have all been ex-professional players so they all look after themselves. There are a lot of good footballers in that league so the standard is good, the football is good, so I really enjoyed it.

" There is nothing worse than training all week and then the build-up to a game and you are not playing. So it is nice to have that to look forward to on a Saturday and that is what I want every week really. I have already spoken to my agent and he is speaking to different managers and hopefully someone is going to listen to him and take up his offer of me.

" If not though then Barrow is a great club and I just hope that they don't feel like it is a last resort for me, because it is not really. I have just obviously got one eye on next season already just incase things don't work out here. Hopefully I want to stay in full-time football and that is in the Football League. I spoke to Dave about that and he said that I have got to do the best for my career. He said that they will always be interested and if I can't find anything in the Football League then Barrow is there and it is an option.

" I think that anyone in any line of work would always look for the best option for themselves first and that is what I am doing really. Just waiting to see if there is any interest from any league clubs and if there is not then I will go to Barrow without any second thoughts. They are great lads, I really enjoyed it, I made some good friends and I spoke to a couple of lads on Monday. I explained what I was doing and they gave their full backing to me and said to do what is best for myself. Hopefully if I go back there then the lads will be good lads and I will look forward to it. "
