Kevin Gall warming up
United winger/striker Kevin Gall spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey today as he gave his thoughts on how things have been going for the Blues lately, Gall also talking about facing his old club Yeovil at Brunton Park tomorrow :

" We have been tenth for a long time but I think that's all credit to us really because we've kept ourselves in there. We could have easily slipped away, because it became tight below us, but I think the lads have shown good character. We're disappointed not to get three wins out of the last three games really, I think we should have won at Brentford, but we're obviously happy to take seven points. We're still that little bit disappointed though that we didn't get nine points then we could have been two points nearer to where we want to be.

" The lads have done well though, we've all been working hard with the weather as well, we haven't been able to train outdoors a lot. It is difficult but being professional we're trying our best, the gaffer (Neil McDonald) and Greg (Abbott) are doing their best to help us, as well as Dolly (Neil Dalton). Everyone is digging in together and I think that's showing when it comes to a Saturday.

" The Doncaster game just passed us by, it's just one of those things where we were 1-0 down and we were thinking ‘hang on a minute – we need to get this game back'. We sort of dug in as a team, and did a job as a team and we got two tremendous goals. Jeff (Smith) is settling in really well now and he's looking like a player that can cause problems, he scored a great goal on Saturday.

" We know what Karl (Hawley) can do, nothing needs saying about what a good player Karl is, he knows that himself anyway. He'll keep working hard, even though I said on Saturday about all this stuff about the contracts with Karl and people saying he shouldn't be playing because he hasn't signed. You've just to get to come and watch the game because Karl gives 120% every single game, without a contract or whatever is happening.

" The same with Murph (Peter Murphy) as well, credit to them, I think they are showing what sort of loyalty and team spirit they have actually got while they are here. It would be great for me and everybody else if they signed, but I can't enforce what's going to happen, nobody can. I shouldn't be talking about it because it's got nothing to do with me but they are two great players and they are showing that they want to be part of this team.

" I put the fact that I was at Yeovil behind me and moved on, it's irrelevant. I think first of all when you first leave, you think that ‘I'll show them'. I got told a little bit of advice by somebody though, never go away from a club thinking I'll prove you wrong and I'll show you. That's what I've tried to do because he said that it never really works out. When I came away from Yeovil I just wanted to come to Carlisle, I didn't expect to play because I wasn't playing for Yeovil last year. I've come here and I've played every single league game though which has been great for me. "
