Kevin Gall
United frontman Kevin Gall spoke to BBC Radio Tees about his current loan spell at League Two side Darlington, Gall suggesting that he would be happy to make his move a permanent one in the summer :

" It's great, I'm really enjoying it, it's nice to be playing and be involved, obviously with a team that is doing well. It's going really well, obviously the lads have been doing really well all season. It's been good to come in and try to add to that really and I've really enjoyed it so far.

" He is great, I've known the gaffer (Dave Penney) for quite a number of years now because when I was at Yeovil Doncaster were a big rival. I nearly went with him at Doncaster but it's come off now and I'm finally getting to play under him and it's been great. He's a very good manager and he earns great respect off the lads and I think it shows in what he has done in different clubs before.

" Obviously everyone knows Dave Penney, he has been there and done it at this level and he's doing it again. So everybody knows Dave Penney and they know what he can do. It's great to come to a club like Darlington, you've got such a good manager and a good group of staff as well as the players. It's been great though, I've really enjoyed it so far and hopefully I can keep it going, maybe try to stay until the end of the season and see what happens after that really.

" He (John Ward) hasn't said anything to me, I've got a year left at Carlisle but obviously they are in a position whether they don't know if they will be in the Championship next year. So you never know what is going to happen, I've just got to wait and see until the end of the season I think and take it form there. I can't see myself playing in League One with Carlisle so I can't really myself playing in the Championship. "

" If I had the opportunity to come here and sign here then I'd say now that I definitely would like to. I just think that it's one of those things where you go to a new club and you get to meet new lads all the time and it is difficult in the first couple of weeks. Then you settle in though and things get a little bit easier. They are a good bunch of lads, a great bunch of lads, and they have got a good team spirit here. It would be nice to be a part of it and hopefully I'll try to help them get promoted this year but hopefully I'll get to be a part of it next year as well.

" I wasn't part of a promotion side at Carlisle, we finished eighth at Carlisle last year, just outside the play-offs which was unlucky but I was part of the Conference and League Two championship side when I was at Yeovil. So it's a great feeling to get promoted and the lads have worked really hard this year and to throw it away now would be very disappointing. I think the next couple of games are important but it's something that Darlington can definitely achieve this year.

" There are four teams going for three positions but if you look at it I think Darlington are probably the strongest out of those four on the field. Even when you play in League One you still look in the league and you still see how teams are doing and Darlington have been there all along. I think it's definitely one of those things though where you can see what is going to happen at the end but you have got to take every game as it comes really. I think it's one of those things where you've got to take every game and try to get three points and try to push for that promotion and see what happens really.

" I've had it all my career about being a winger but I'm a centre-forward, I am really. I think that's my best position but I played all last season at right-midfield for Carlisle. Then I started playing upfront again this year and then all of a sudden I wasn't involved. I think the gaffer here specifically brought me here as a centre-forward but I can play on the wing as well. "

" So if needs be I am willing to play anywhere, as long as I'm playing is the main thing. You train all week to play on a Saturday and it doesn't really matter where you play as long as you are playing a part of it. I think that's it's important to just try your best in any position, so centre-forward I'd like to play but I don't mind playing anywhere really.

" The pitch doesn't help at home, it's not easy, our lot of fans come and they are not really happy with what they see sometimes. It's not making an excuse but it actually is really difficult to play on the pitch, to play the football that you would actually like to play. If you have seen the last two away games, we have played some great football at Bury and Notts County. Wycombe is a nice pitch and it's a nice little stadium down there and I think we can go there and do well.

" I don't see why we should be scared of anyone now because I think it is just one of those things where you have just got to try to win every game that is possible. If you look at it you are talking six or seven wins maybe out of twelve and that gets you promoted. I think Saturday will be a tough game though because you don't underestimate Wycombe, they have been doing well and they are a good side but I think that we have definitely got the players here to not worry about it and go there and win the game.

" I could have two winners medals come the end of the season but I'm here now at Darlington and I'm concentrating here. Obviously I wish all my friends good luck at Carlisle, I'm still currently their player but I'm at Darlington now. I'll give everything while I am here and hopefully it can help towards us getting promoted. "
