MK Dons boss Karl Robinson spoke to BBC Three Counties Radio after his side's 4-1 defeat against Carlisle at Brunton Park, Robinson saying he shouldn't have got himself sent off :

" I'll accept responsibility for it, I got things wrong maybe, and it's something I will learn from and come back stronger. But, it was just one of those days at Carlisle that you can't put your finger on, but maybe I got it wrong, maybe I am the one to blame today.

" I shouldn't have kicked the water bottle and got sent off, that was the official reason, I kicked the water bottle and got sent off. So, I shouldn't maybe do that and maybe me doing that and me getting sent off riled the players and they scored within that period when I was sat in the stands.

" Two goals, at that stage we were comfortable at 0-0 and if Jermaine Easter's chance goes in and Lewie (Dean Lewington) hits the bar. It is very similar to last year, we came here and I think Alby (Aaron Wilbraham) had one or two chances early on. But, the important thing for me was how they responded in the last 30 minutes. They gritted their teeth and had a go but overall it is unacceptable and not good enough for us.

" I might as well go along the same lines as the referee (Mark Haywood) and say what clash? (between Ian Harte and Easter) So, we must have been the only two people in the whole stadium who didn't see it. It is just one of those things that you don't take your chances at the right times and decisions don't go your way. They make those decisions and I don't know why the referee didn't see it.

" I know the refeee didn't see it but Carlisle were preparing to make a substitution to change the way they were playing while it was all going on, so they must have seen something in their dugout as well. Referees have got to do the right things and they have done their job today and we have got to accept it and come back stronger people. "

" We had a good chat in the dressing-room afterwards and it is about a learning curve for us. We haven't got a divine right to win games and when you miss chances and things don't go your way then you have got to keep digging in. My disappointing thing is today and what I will take from this is that when we lost our shape today we look an average team.

" Up to now this year in pre-season our shape has been absolutely fantastic and we haven't conceded too many chances. In the first-half they had one chance when it came through a deflection and they got in, up until 40 minutes. So, our shape is right, we don't concede many chances.

" There were a few carrying a few little niggles today that, maybe I will look back on that and think that maybe I made a mistake there. But, we have got to grow together from this and I am man enough to say maybe it was me.

" I would like to apologise to the fans that have come up here and spent their money. I know they had to deal with the traffic on the way up here. It is just one of those things, thank God we have got this out of the way at the beginning of the season as it is not good enough. "
