Blues hotshot Karl Hawley spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he gave his thoughts on Simon Hackney's finishing and how his own niggling groin injury is faring up :

" It’s nice to be back at the top of the league and obviously the result was good and the performance was good, we were ruthless in our finishing. It was great finishing by Simon (Hackney), I just saw him twice in the same position, and once he did it the first time I thought that I might as well give it him again and he managed to score twice so I’m delighted.

" It was a good goal by Homer (Derek Holmes), that’s what we wanted - a good early start, and we just kept going after that. That was the main thing, once you get an early goal you’ve got to stop on top of teams, keep pushing, not drop off and invite pressure on yourselves. We kept going and managed to score four more goals.

" I’m not saying if I’ve passed my original goals target, it’s going well at the moment though so I’ve just got to keep going, the main thing is for the team to stop at the top of the league and get promotion.

" My groin felt fine today, I trained yesterday for the first time since Tuesday and it felt alright. Today I didn’t have a problem either, I’ve just got to keep going and hopefully it won’t hinder me any more. "
