Cumbrians hotshot Karl Hawley
Blues top scorer Karl Hawley spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he gave his thoughts on the home win over Port Vale. Hawley commenting on how well the team played as a whole :

" I think we bossed the game and were unlucky to be 2-0 down at half-time, we just needed to keep going and hopefully get a few more chances and put them away. We couldn't sulk about it though, we just had to get on with it, we knew we were playing well and we knew we would create more chances, we just had to put them in the back of the net.

" Sometimes you don't have the best of games in front of goal but after the first goal went in we knew that we were back into it, we knew that we'd score another goal. Si (Simon Hackney) played well today, as did everyone in the team, it was a good cross for my goal and the boys got some good crosses in today.

" The third one was an own goal, you can't give it to Murph (Peter Murphy). It was always going to happen that they would have some late pressure after that, they were 2-0 up but we had a lot of pressure and a lot of chances, but we didn't get the goals until the second half. After we went up we were always going to be a bit more negative because we didn't want to lose it, we managed to hang in but still we had a few more chances after that. We were in control of the whole game I think.

" As we are playing the way we are playing you just want the games to roll but a break won't do us any harm. Today I thought that I played well, like everyone in the team, but I've just got to keep going and see how many goals I can get. "
