John Ward
United boss John Ward spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Paul Newton on Friday afternoon ahead of Carlisle's away game at Swindon tomorrow, Ward first outlining the current injury situation at Brunton Park :

" We're not too bad, we haven't brought Scott Dobie with us, we've left him at home, he is going to do some work back in Carlisle and he should be OK through for next week, we just don't think it's worth the risk. Danny Carlton and Gary Madine are fit and well, they trained this morning, and obviously we have got Kevin Gall back so that eases that situation quite nicely for us, but everyone else is fine.

" I'm not looking at a loan move at this moment, I don't have to because of what I have just said really. The squad is reasonably OK, we've obviously just got Jeff (Smith), Paul Thirlwell and Joe (Garner) out but in the main the squad is quiet good. I think Kevin is happy to come back, Kevin always knew the score as did Darlington, that if we had a problem we would bring him back in. He has done his six weeks over there though, and once I'd spoken to him he was quite happy to come back and help the cause.

" I've spoken to Mick Wadsworth about Gretna, Mick is a good friend of mine and I've said to him that I don't want to be coming there on a fire salvage mission and jump in and take his best ones. Mick is going to keep me informed of the positions and the situation there, we as a club are very much aware of the quality in the playing staff at Gretna, and we will just see how that goes. I'm not going to mention any player, it's not fair of me to do that. They have still got their own situations to deal with and I've got a game to try to win at Swindon so we'll leave it at that.

" The treatment of Cleveland Taylor was disappointing but it's a minority of fans, the majority of supporters are very, very supportive of the team and of individual players. I think that we should look at it in that respect and say that Cleveland has done a good job for the team since he came in and will continue to do so. He's fine, I haven't spoken to him at all, Cleveland has got a smile on his face as he always has and he'll be in the team tomorrow and he'll do his very, very best for everybody. I don't have to talk to him, he's a very sensible level-headed young man.

" We just have to ask the supporters to try not to do it, as far as I am aware I think that a lot of other supporters who were supportive of Cleveland Taylor have said that to them themselves. So it's probably not down to me, I don't have to say anything. I've got plenty to do, I think there are a lot of good people in the crowd that will do that for myself and for Cleveland. We settled up Adam (Bradley's) contract and we've got three or four goalkeepers in the football club and we felt that it was in everybody's interests to look at that and allow Adam to move on with his career.

" Darren (Campion) has taken on a new year's contract, which I was delighted to offer to him. He's improved considerably in the short time that I have been at the club. He's got himself sorted out and I think that there is a player of the future there, and it's only right that we encourage that. Neale (McDermott) has got one more game across at Hartlepool. I spoke to Neale last night and he told me that it is next Wednesday and then he and I will make contact on the Thursday afterwards and see what the position is with Hartlepool, Neale and ourselves.

" Swindon have got a new manager now, they were in limbo the last time we played them back up at Brunton Park and have now got some stabilised positions in there. A new manager, players are playing for their contracts trying to impress him, so I know that team quite well during my time in the West Country. They have got some good players and on any one day they can beat anybody in this league, and we've got to make sure that we are very much up for the game as we have been in the recent matches. "
