Daggers boss John Still
Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still spoke to BBC Radio Essex after his side's 2-0 League One win over Carlisle at Brunton Park, Still suggesting the Daggers deserved the victory after some good recent performances :

" I am sure it is still going to be a long trip home, but it was a good performance from us today to be fair in I think a run of good performances. I think we had a good performance at Plymouth and I think it could have been another win there, I really do.

" I think that our form has been decent and it is just a matter of keeping working, working, working, working, and trying to turn the performances into wins, which we did today. The one thing we have never lacked here is spirit and commitment and hard work, we have never lacked those qualities.

" Sometimes we come across teams that are a little bit better than us and we understand that. As I have said many times, I never lose face of the fact of who we are and where we have come from. I know that sometimes teams will perhaps be a little bit better than us, but at the same time I think that we are learning all the time, we are improving all the time, and at the moment I think that we are in reasonable form.

" I think it is going to be now a Christmas period that is always tough. There are plenty of games, but I think that our form has been reasonable and I think that today with our performance, there is not a person here, the most biased Carlisle supporter, would say that we didn't deserve to win. "

" There are plenty of games still to play and we have always been aware from the minute that we came into the Football League, which is a couple of years ago now. But, from the minute we came in we were aware that sometimes bigger clubs with bigger budgets are going to be better than us and we understand that.

" But, what we can do, we can keep learning and keep learning and keep learning. We have always done that and we have always found a way forward. I am very confident in the players that we have that we can keep finding a way forward.

" I think the lessons are being learned and applied now, I think people understand that the higher you go if you make a mistake then the other team can punish you. We found that in our first season in the Football League, we had to battle like hell to stay in it, in the second season just outside the play-offs and third season promotion.

" We are hoping that we can keep learning, when I look at my team today there are some really young players in that team and we have always worked with young players. The one thing that we know is that we can help young players improve. "
