New United signing Joe Anyinsah spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Paul Newton on Friday evening about his permanent transfer from Preston to Carlisle today, Anyinsah also about talking about his recent loan spell at Brighton :

" I am glad to be back to be honest, there was a bit of speculation about whether it was going to happen or whatnot, I was glad to put pen to paper today. It has been a mad few days, I can't really remember the exact date that I knew that Carlisle were interested. I think that it was a few days ago now. They contacted my agent and whatnot and they told me that they were interested, and I was obviously very interested at the time as well, so I am just glad to have it sorted.

" There were a couple of other clubs interested as well and I was weighing up my options and whatnot, but I thought that overall Carlisle would be better for my career going forward. Greg Abbott was a very big influence in my decision obviously, he gave me my chance first of all, he brought me to the club on my loan spell first of all when I came here. He gave me confidence, he let me play week in and week out and whatnot so obviously I have got a lot to thank him for. He was a big influence on my decision as well.

" It has been very frustrating for me at Preston, like any footballer, you just want to be out there playing week in and week out regularly. Obviously I wasn't getting that so I have had to go out and have a few loan spells out and about, but it is nice to put pen to paper on a permanent deal. Hopefully I can do well here and start playing a bit more regular team football.

" They used to call me the Loan Ranger at Preston but I think that the most successful one was at Brighton more than Crewe. I think that at Crewe it was just getting towards the back end of the season and I just wanted to get a few games in before I could enjoy my summer holidays.

" I think that I was quite close to a deal at Brighton honest, they were obviously quite interested in me after my loan spell there which went pretty well. Then it was probably out of them, and Swindon were obviously involved as well so it was those two teams. When Carlisle came in though it threw things on its head a little bit and I decided to come up here

" Scoring against Manchester City for Brighton was probably up there as one of the highlights of my career so far. Scoring against the richest team in the world is a big achievement for me, and we knocked them out of the cup which was great. "

" I was pretty ill before the game at Carlisle but it was a game that I wanted to play in because I had been at Carlisle before. I wanted to try to do the best that I could and get on the pitch out there. So I was pleased that the gaffer (Micky Adams) let me have a little spell up there. Carlisle actually did very well in that game though, they battered Brighton as well. The Carlisle fans gave me a great reception which was really nice as well, so it was much appreciated for that.

" It's not nice to be just like a fringe player as you call it, it's not nice, so hopefully I can come to Carlisle, get my head down, put in some really good performances and whatnot. If I start doing well then I will have proved my point. At the moment I will be staying in the Preston area, I will just see how it goes. I have not got any plans to move up as of yet but you never know, things can change, so we will see how it goes.

" I think that I am a better player than I was last season, like any player I was obviously a little bit younger at that time, I have gained experience. Every little thing that I have learned on my different loan spells, I have learned a lot of different things. I think that that experience was invaluable for me and hopefully it made me into a better player.

" Leeds United away, that will be a great contest to be involved in, obviously I am just looking forward to it and I am raring to go. I haven't been told if I will play a part yet so fingers crossed and we will see what happens. I played for Brighton at Leeds this season, I think that they beat us 3-1 so it was quite a good game to be fair, Glenn Murray scored the Brighton goal.

" Glenn is excellent, he is a really good player, I have got a lot of time for Glenn, he is quite an unselfish chap, he does a lot of running as well which goes unnoticed. He has done well though, he has scored a lot of goals there so if he does get a move away then I am sure that he will thoroughly deserve it because he was different class when I was there. "
