Jimmy RyanScunthorpe midfielder Jimmy Ryan spoke to BBC Radio Humberside after his side's 2-1 League One defeat against Carlisle at Glanford Park, Ryan at least happy to be back involved after being sidelined for two and a half months with a knee injury :

"We are disappointed really, we thought that we made a lot of chances to take the three points, but it is one of those things, they have gone and got the last goal again, we just need to kick on for next week really and look forward to it and try to resolve it. It is mixed feelings for me with coming back but I am always more disappointed for the team than myself really. I am made up I have got on, I might not have got on the ball quite as much as I would have liked to but the thing I am most disappointed about is the result really, and that hopefully we can work on that this week and we will fix it for next week.

"The last couple of months have been hard for me, I have seen the lads go to training every day and that is hard to sit there and know that you can't do what you want to do and what you love. But, to be fair there have been a few lads injured, Jordan (Robertson), Josh (Lillis) and that and we have all stuck together really, and have kept it going for ourselves and kept it good, and we are just made up to be back now.

"I don't know why things aren't going for us at the moment, if it was so simple like that it would be a different story next week. But, we have just got to work together and take the chances when they come, I mean I have had a chance today which I thought I should have done better with. But, it is just one of those things, we have got to take our chances and keep them out at the other end, and hopefully next week and the weekend after we will do that.

"We have just got to believe in ourselves really and keep our confidence up, there is no point sitting here and getting down and knocking your confidence. At the end of the day the same lads have got to go out next week and hopefully get three points. So, we have just got to stick together and get ourselves out of it, which I am sure we will because we are all good players. No-one wants to be in the relegation zone no matter what time of the season it is, so we just don't want to get in there whatever point of the season it is. We want to kick on and get a few wins and get as well away from the bottom as we can.

"For me I wouldn't say I was fit enough to start, I mean I trained for the first time on Monday and played in the reserves on Wednesday. So, I am happy with the progress I have done really, I am made up to be involved today because this time last week I didn't think I would ever be involved, and I have got on for 25 minutes today so I am delighted with my own fitness but I just need to kick on and try to get fit to put myself in the gaffer (Alan Knill's) mind for a start really in the next few weeks."
