New United loan signing Jason Price (Price) spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's James Phillips (Phillips) at Friday morning's press conference for the local media, Price first talking about the excitement of a new challenge :

Price

I know a lot of players here and it is a big club, I am excited with a new challenge. Obviously Oldham didn't work out and then Carlisle came in so I thought it was a new challenge.

Phillips

For the fans who don't know chapter and verse on you, what sort of a striker and what sort of a player would you describe yourself as?

Price

Awkward, very awkward, extremely awkward.

Phillips

What about on the pitch?

Price

Ha, ha, no, I give 110%, I am not the most skilful player you will meet but I will just get these ricochet goals. I am 6'2, I am awkward upfront, centre-halves hate playing against me so I am hoping I can do the business in the next two months.

Phillips

It is a shame in coming here that you can't play in the Johnstone's Paint final for Carlisle once again isn't it?

Price

I know, I have just had a text now off (Danny) Schofield down at Millwall, he asked if I could play and I can't. I played against Barnet and I pulled my hamstring after 45 minutes, I was devastated and we lost 2-0 as well.

Phillips

So 45 minutes of football has kept you out of a Wembley final has it?

Price

It has yeah and it was the worst game ever, I was so bad, I pulled my hamstring going for a stupid tackle.

Phillips

What are you looking to achieve coming here? I know that your contract is up with Millwall at the end of the season, are you thinking about the future or is just at the moment about getting some football?

Price

I am definitely thinking about the future now, I have just had a word with the gaffer (Greg Abbott) now and he said that if I do the business then we can obviously start talking. But it is a fresh start for me, a fresh start for the club, I am looking forward to the task ahead so I am hoping to just score some goals and the team win games.

Phillips

As you understand it, if you had a really good loan spell here with Carlisle do you still have a future at Millwall or are you looking for a move at the end of the season?

Price

I can honestly say that my future looks bleak at Millwall. I haven't appeared in 20 games and I have only started about eight I think. Obviously the manager has said to me go on loan, so I don't think there is really another contract there for me. So, a fresh start, I am looking to play a big part now in Carlisle's progress in the league.

Phillips

How is that as a footballer when I am sure at 32 you have seen a lot of things in your career, but how does it feel when you get the impression that you are no longer wanted I guess at a club?

Price

Well it is different for me because for the last ten to twelve years I have always felt wanted. But when a manager turns round and says to go out on loan because I can't get a game, it gets you a little bit down. But then you have got to look at the bright side where it is a fresh start. It is alien to me but I am starting to get the hang of it now because I have had two clubs in the last month.

Phillips

How do you feel when you get to that point in your career at 32-years old where I guess you are wondering how many seasons are left in you? Does it make you cherish the time that you have got left and want to use it and want to be a success here with Carlisle?

Price

Yeah, definitely, I have a bit of a laugh and joke about the boys that they can't put my age down, I say 826 days to go and stuff but it is a bit of banter. But you do start to see the hill a bit, but I am 32, I feel 26 and I look 22. I am looking forward to it, my body has not caved in yet.

Phillips

Who are the players that you know here in coming into what is quite a charismatic dressing room?

Price

I lived with Lenny Pidgeley when I was at Millwall for two and a half months, he took me under his wing. I know (Richard) Keogh, (Graham) Kavanagh I have played against loads of times, (Darryl) Duffy I played at Hull with. I know a couple of the boys, I have played against Carlisle all my career so I have got a couple of friends in that dressing room.

Phillips

What do you know about the club then as you came into it? As you say, you have had a few ding dongs here.

Price

Yeah, it is an absolute mission to get to is Carlisle, it is two hours from anywhere but it is like Hull, Hull was the same. But obviously Carlisle - good fans, good fanbase, the pitch is massive. I haven't played in the Carlisle kit yet, that weird coloured kit, so I can't wait.

Phillips

What do you do in your spare time?

Price

It was Call of Duty but I have calmed right down on that now.

Phillips

All footballers play computer games, my girlfriend tells me off if I play them.

Price

Well you need to put your foot down then.
