Former United defender Ian Harte spoke to BBC Radio Berkshire after completing his six-figure fee move to Reading, Harte looking to get on with his new life as soon as possible :

" It is part of a footballer's life, you just have to get on with it. The most important thing there for me is to try to find a house down here as quickly as possible and get my family down. So, there is no point in moaning about it, it always does happen and it is just the way it goes.

" It is a fantastic club, it has got great facilities and it has only just dropped out of the Premier League a few years ago. So, it is very important that a club like this gets back as quickly as possible and hopefully I can help that.

" Of course I played all my career at left-back and went over to Spain and had a spell over there. But last year I have played centre-half at Carlisle where I enjoyed my football, and last year I scored 18 goals, so it would be nice if I can score half the amount here this season. I got nine headers, a few penalties and quite a few free-kicks, so hopefully I can get a few down here.

" But, the main thing and the most important thing is that I go out and do my talking on the pitch and try to help the team. The most important thing is the team pushing up the table, getting as many points as we can and see where it takes us.

" There is a great squad of players here, there is a good mixture of experience and youth and hopefully the older lads can help the younger lads. It is important that we work as a team, whoever does go onto the pitch, the first eleven, that all the rest of the players are backing them. "
