United caretaker manager Greg Abbott spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he talked about the 2-0 victory at Huddersfield today, Abbott talking about the need to keep the good run going :

" We've come to a place like Huddersfield Town, who I don't think Carlisle have won here for 15 years (ed - 34 years, and never in the league before today) Dolly (Neil Dalton) says, it might be even longer. We absolutely battered them in the first-half, played them off the park and Keiren (Westwood) has not had a save to make. We've hit the post, we've had a goal chalked off for offside, we've forced them to change their formation because they couldn't cope with us and that is the sort of football that I am looking to play.

" In the second-half we said that they were going to get a bit of a roasting at half-time, be expected that they will put pressure on and will throw a little bit of caution to the wind. They changed their system and we changed ours to marry that up because we needed to make sure that we kept a clean sheet and I think at the end of it that nil was what we wanted from them because it made sure that we won the game. We did that I think rather comfortably.

" He is a natural goalscorer isn't he Danny (Livesey), he knows what to do when he gets three yards out from the line. You thought that the chance had gone, I thought that (Marc) Bridge-Wilkinson's shot was all ends up a goal, a fantastic strike. We managed to get the second bits and pieces and forced the ball home which I thought was well deserved, more than well deserved at that time. Joe (Garner) poaching on the spot gets ahead of his man and nicks one in at the near-post, then the game is there for them to chase.

" He (Bridge-Wilkinson) is not a bad player is he, he gets paid to do that though, he spends most of the day after training practising corners. I'm pleased for him and I'm pleased for my players because again you can see the appetite and everything they have got, a young side but they have given 110% if you can, they were absolutely magnificent.

" Of course I'm concerned about what is happening on the managerial side but I'm just enjoying what I'm doing. I'm working with a great bunch of players and I'm doing it to the best of my ability. I think from the spirit, the way they are playing and the effort that they are putting in you can see that things are ticking over nicely. It's up to Fred (Story) to make that decision and when he does it'll be fantastic if it goes in a positive way. "

" We just talked about relieving pressure and then the composure and the confidence starts flowing through. I think that's what you earn by getting results early on, you manage to be able to do that. Hopefully we'll see even more control and more quality football in the future weeks because we have got that buffer of a few points on the board. We work day-in and day-out hard to try to improve the standard of football and long may that continue.

" He (David Raven) was unbelievable today, Luke Beckett scores goals against all sorts of defenders and has done right throughout his career. (Malvin) Kamara has got pace and then (Andy) Booth comes on and is a different proposition, anything that was slung at him in the last three games he has dealt with. I've just said to him there that he was absolutely fantastic, again it just proves what a group of players we have got where players play out of position and perform like that, brilliant.

" It just give us that little bit of a cushion there to find the right player to bring in to improve us, at the minute it might cost a lot of money to find a centre-half better than David Raven. I thought he was terrific again but it's good isn't it for us, it's a problem that we have with Murph (Peter Murphy) being injured but it's a problem that has been solved by David's performances. So well done to everybody in front of him as well because they defended with their lives too.

" I'd be upset if he (Danny Graham) wasn't showing any disappointment when he comes off. I'll explain my decision, I wanted to get in behind them with the pace to cause their defenders problems by turning them around. I thought that just the extra energy and pace of Joe and Kevin (Gall) up there was going to do that. I think we nearly got in with that sort of thing later on in the game, Kevin has been very unlucky and Joe has had another effort on goal that closely missed. I'm not too worried though about Danny, I'd be upset if he wasn't showing any disappointment, he just wants to play and score goals which is fantastic for my centre-forward to do that.

" Coventry is a bit of time off from the league but again we want to keep the moment going, we want to cause Coventry a lot of problems and give them a tough tie up at Carlisle. It's another quick one to look forward to so bring it on. I said that I would enjoy the journey, you might be wondering what I'll be like when I've lost three on the trot but hopefully I'll come up, still smile and give an explanation. For me it's been close to perfect hasn't it, we've just got to keep this going. "
