Blues boss Greg Abbott
United boss Greg Abbott spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria this evening ahead of Carlisle's League One clash against Millwall at the New Den tomorrow, Abbott spending his evening sitting in rush hour traffic :

" We have not got to where we are going yet, so we are still going. We have trained with a good session at Peterborough, we stopped off three quarters of the way down. We are just stuck in a bit of traffic on the M25 now though, so we are still waiting to get to the hotel.

" It has been a good day, the boys looked pretty good today and we are looking forward to tomorrow. The session has gone well today, it was a nice bright session, I think that they enjoyed the fact that we can break the journey up.

" Everyone is fit for selection tomorrow, obviously barring Peter Murphy who has hurt his groin earlier on in the week. He is not a major concern because we were hopeful that with missing the weekend it will settle down and he will be back in training with us on Monday. Certainly by the middle of next we would wish to have him back, I don't think that it is a serious one, I think that it is more of a caution with him having problems in that area in the past.

" I would rather be going into the game tomorrow on the back of a clean sheet and a victory, than I would be in the manner in which we conceded goals against Brentford, so in that respect it is a lot more positive. The players are in quite a good mood, buoyant, last year we came down here the training the day before was a bit apprehensive, it was a little bit tetchy.

" Today though they have looked really focused and well up for it. So the clean sheet and the win gives everybody confidence and we need to build on that and try to get some more very, very quickly to get the season off and running with a real bit of momentum. "

" For Millwall it is not a great start is it, a point at Southampton, beaten Bournemouth, they would expect to do that. Millwall have got a strong side, I don't think that they have pulled up any trees with the two games they have played but we have hopefully got to try to get them while they are still concerned about what happened to them last season.

" We are trying to add to the squad, I am more than hopeful that we can do something in the early part of next week and the search continues. Dennis (Booth) is not with us this week, he is viewing a player tomorrow so he is not with us and hopefully that will come to fruition. There are one or two firm enquiries, I would think that we are rather warm certainly on one, and hopefully two by the middle to the end of next week, so I am really optimistic.

" The lack of activity - I could sign a player right now if I wanted to, but what the fans would be upset about is if we rushed into something that wasn't better than we have got. Enquiries we have made and the people that we have asked for have been top drawer to make sure that we get better than we have got.

" That is the approach that I am going to continue with and while it is a little bit frustrating for everybody, and myself included, we have to make sure that we bring in better than we have already got. We are really hopeful though that by the middle to the end of next week that that will be rectified and the fans will be pleased with the players that hopefully agree to join us. "

" I think that Cleveland Taylor's situation had probably reached its level where the thing couldn't go on much longer. Cleveland had made it plain that he didn't want to play for the club, Brentford had come in with an offer that the club had found acceptable. So it was agreed by everybody with that offer coming in and Cleveland getting to know about it, it made it very difficult for us to keep him against his wishes.

" Whilst he was playing he was giving everything that he had got but I thought that the time had come for everybody to make a decision and Cleveland part the ways. Ideally though we would have wanted one player in before he went but with him finding out about the offer from Brentford it would have made it difficult for him to focus on the job properly, so we let him go.

" The deal was done between the Managing Director of Brentford and John Nixon, which was fine, I knew that it was always going on, it was just a deal that they brokered together. Obviously John was under instruction from everybody at the club to get the best deal that we could possibly get and he did that with a gentleman called Andrew Mills at Brentford. So I was aware of it going on, it was just that I didn't do it manager to manager, it was more boardroom to boardroom, but I was fully aware of what was going on.

" This is one manager that can't wait to go to Millwall, I can't wait to get along to Millwall, I went two or three times as a player and I love going there. It is a fantastic atmosphere and one that you have got to be up for. The boys seem up for it as well so we can't wait to get stuck into them tomorrow. It is a big benchmark of where you are, it is one of the toughest places to come but it is something that you have to relish, certainly I am relishing it as a manager.

" I am not really bothered about going to Bristol City to be honest, I am just glad that we are in the next round of the cup, which means that we have won our last game. So we crack on, the draw hasn't been kind to us in the last couple of years and it hasn't been over kind to us this year, but we get on with it and we go down to Bristol hopefully getting another result. So it just another game that we have to get our head around and try to overcome. "
