Stockport boss Gary Ablett spoke to Pure 107.8FM Radio after his side's 0-0 draw against Carlisle at Brunton Park, Ablett delighted to have snapped a 12 league match losing streak for the Hatters :

" I felt our performances in previous games have probably deserved a little bit more than we have had I think against Swindon and Leeds. So I am delighted for the players because they have shown a fantastic attitude right the way through this dreadful run we have been on. Hopefully now we can use that as a positive and inspire us to go on and perform to a level that we can take something from the game on Tuesday.

" We are getting there, at times we still need to improve our quality in that final third, but we felt that Jabo (Ibehre) should have scored in the first half. He has hit the bar as well with a great control and shot on the turn and we have had balls fizz across the box. That is not to say that they didn't put our goal under pressure which they did for the first 15 or 20 minutes of the second half there.

" But we stood firm, in previous games we may have gone under but we stood firm and Owain (Fon Williams) has made an unbelievable save at the end. It was not a straight shot, it took a nick off Danny Swailes or someone I think as well so he has adjusted and he has leapt up and he has got his right hand on it.

" But I felt we deserved that I thought on the balance of the game, again, whether we did enough to win or not I don't know. But if you had asked me before the game if I would have taken a point then I would have said yes. "

" I just thought the Carlisle boys were trying it on a little bit in terms of they were after four or five penalties and there was nothing really in it and they were throwing themselves on the floor. That was a bit disappointing but obviously Scott (Dobie) took exception to Danny calling him whatever it is he called him and lashed out and you can't do that.

" Our one, Jabo had been booked for a tackle in the first half, I think if you apply the letter of the law he (referee Chris Sarginson) has booked their lad (Joe Anyinsah) for a follow through on Owain for something similar, a raised foot. Jabo probably did just catch him (Ian Harte) but then again I think the lad has possibly made the most of it and he has probably contributed towards Jabo getting sent off.

" So you could argue that the referee was looking to even things up but there you go, that is what goes on. We could have tried to have changed it and brought JJ (Jemal Johnson) off at the end there but you turn it around and you are looking at the quality that we have got in central midfield and we needed something higher forward, but we weren't able to do that.

" Jabo's one match ban is something that we need to look at. The boys that we have are much of a muchness in terms of height so we look to see what we can do in the next couple of days and then try to bring a bigger one in, just a month on an emergency (loan) or something. But thankfully it is just a game so we should have Jabo back for Southampton. "
