New Blues loan signing Gareth Taylor spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's James Phillips after Carlisle's 2-1 win at Crewe, Taylor understandably pleased with an excellent win away to a relegation rival and also scoring a goal in his first game in United colours :

" It went well, I couldn't ask for more really, I think that I am just really pleased with the result. It was obviously nice for me to bang a goal on my first game but to get a result like that was superb. It is no secret that we are not particularly in a decent position but that gives us a little bit of breathing space. It was important tonight not to lose the game, I think that a draw probably wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world because they (Crewe) are fighting for their lives. So it gives us that little bit of breathing space and another two big games coming up.

" The amount of clubs I have had stacks up a little bit with the loan moves so I think that it is about 12. You always want to start well at a club and sometimes that can't always happen and you are maybe a bit slow at starting in terms of getting goals. I am a striker though and you want to score, and it has been a while since I bagged one so it felt good tonight.

" The signs are good tonight, at times we passed the ball around really well and got into good areas with Cleveland (Taylor) and Lewis (Neal) and stuck good balls in the box. So you are going to get opportunities like that and hopefully myself, Joe (Anyinsah) and the other centre-forwards here can get on the end of them.

" You saw what Carlisle did last season, for one reason or another it is relatively the same team this year and it has not gone so well. That happens sometimes but we have just got to make sure that we see out this season as strongly as possible. That is what the gaffer (Greg Abbott) wants and Dennis (Booth), so hopefully we can achieve that.

" I think that my loan spell is just a case of see how it goes really. I think that I see my future away from Doncaster, there is no doubt about that. The club have been good to me there though and have allowed me to come away quick to Carlisle. I made it known that I wanted to get out on loan and the wheels were in motion for this one and I had a quick decision to make and I made it.

" I only met the lads four hours ago but so far it has gone alright. I was training at Doncaster yesterday and obviously the lads were travelling down today so there was no time really apart from the hotel and getting to know a few of them. Obviously I know a couple, Richard Keogh came to Doncaster for pre-season and Scott Dobie obviously from Nottingham Forest. The lads have been great though, they are good characters here and they want to do well, which is good. "
