New Blues loan signing Gareth Taylor spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Thursday morning at the United press conference, Taylor talking about his debut goal in the 2-1 win at Crewe on Tuesday night and his hopes for the future :

" It went well, I obviously just got thrown straight in to it and it was obviously difficult meeting a few of the boys before the game, a couple of hours before. It can go one of two ways though, and luckily it went quite well. I seem to play against one of my old clubs every other week, I went to Crewe on loan, I think that I played about a dozen games there. I enjoyed my time there and I had the option to sign but obviously chose to go elsewhere.

" It was difficult conditions, it was a swirling wind and it wasn't the easiest to play in, but the early goal settled a few nerves and it settled a few of mine. It was great and it went quite well. Looking at the table it was a big three points and especially playing one of the teams that are down there with us. The same with the next couple of games that we have got, I think that it is important not to lose those games.

" The interest in me was really sudden on Monday morning, I went into training in Doncaster and the manager (Sean O'Driscoll) pulled me in and I had five or ten minutes to think about it. I came back and said yes, no problem at all and that was it. I want to get back in the shop window and back playing, I obviously know Dennis Booth from my time at Bristol Rovers years ago.

" I don't really know many of the players though, I know Scott (Dobie) from my Nottingham Forest days but you have just got to get on and deal with it and it was a good opportunity for me. I think that we just see how things go here, I think that for both parties, for myself and obviously for the club so we will see how things progress.

" I have looked at the fixtures that I can play in and Hereford as well is another big game where we need to pick up as many points as possible, but the games are coming thick and fast. I realise now that I will be looking at probably one year contracts which is fine by me, but I am feeling fit, I am feeling OK. I need to get a couple more matches under my belt to get myself right up to speed but I am looking forward to doing that here.

" I will help as much as I can here, I am looking beyond football to stay in the game in some capacity as a coach or a manager. So I think that over the last couple of years I have taken that on board and tried to help the younger lads as much as possible. I am looking forward to Yeovil, it is a big game, they hit really good form under Russell Slade, they have not been so good since he has left but I think that it is one of those games that we can't really afford to lose. "
