Ex-Northampton manager and one-time Tricky Trees defensive stalwart Colin Calderwood, who was speaking to The Nottingham Evening Post, talked about the 0-0 draw against Carlisle at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon. Calderwood mentioning the effort that his players put in :

"This was the first penalty miss that has cost us points, but it is the first one that Grant (Holt) has missed this season. Junior (Agogo) had a fine game, I thought he was a big influence. He obviously won the penalty, he unsettled them, always looked a threat and looked direct. It was a good mixture to add to what we have already got and I thought Neil Harris played very cleverly too, in the role he was in. He put in a mountain of work that will have been unseen by the vast majority.

"I could see Kevin Gray using his experience to get back, but you could see that Chopper (Neil Harris) was very calm, I knew where he was going to put it, he didn't lash at it, he manipulated the ball. Jack (Lester) was certain he was touched, he got booked for diving but the referee has said he will look at it again, Junior was adamant he was brought down as well.

"We will sleep a lot easier after that. I am not frustrated by the result or the performance, there are too many positives from what the boys did. I can have no grumbles about their effort or application. We didn't get the result, but in other games that we have won, we have not had the same buoyancy of performance that we had on Saturday.

"I thought it was an excellent game. I know we have only taken a point and you can sit back and think that we have only taken one point out of six at home, but it is not like that. It is one point more than we had before - Tuesday night is the reason that we only have one point out of six, not Saturday's performance.

"This was a hard earned point and it went to the wire. We have come up against a good team again and the next few games are against teams who are also up around us. We will see where we come out at the end of that period. Are we better than they are? We will see.

"There are lots of good teams in the division, which we have seen. There is no need to start nashing teeth, the application is good and the atmosphere in the dressing room is all right. I was very impressed by our tempo in the first half, we passed the ball a lot better than we have and certainly better than on Tuesday night.

"The body language and the aura of our performance was much better. There were lots of things to be pleased about - I'm really happy with the attitude of the players. For a goalless draw there was enough action in both penalty boxes for people to say they have been royally entertained."
