United youth team boss Eric Kinder spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria on Friday morning about Carlisle's 2-0 FA Youth Cup quarter-final defeat at home to Aston Villa last night, Kinder saying that his charges never gave in :

" We had an horrendous start, 12 minutes gone and 2-0 down. When that happens against a side with the quality of Aston Villa then you leave yourselves too much to do, but all credit to them. We stuck in and to be fair in the second-half we really pinned them back and if we'd got the break we were after then who knows. We missed a chance of pulling it back and time just ran out on us, but I was absolutely delighted with the performance of them.

" The facilites at Bodymoor Heath, which is the training ground, the academy of Aston Villa, is absolutely huge. I would imagine they have got six or seven pitches, ten to fifteen staff and a group of highly talented players from not only here but around Europe. When you look at the facilities that we have, and I'm certainly not complaining because we do the very best we can.

" There is a massive difference but if you had seen the second-half performance last night there wasn't much of a difference on the pitch. In the first-half they stung us and it left us too much to do. Our lads have got a bit of a steel, they don't give in, I've said to them that they have dealt with disappointment all season and when they have got problems they come flying back.

" They don't let disappointments effect them and after 12 minutes you are asking them to dig deep. I was absolutely delighted with them and it can only get better, the future is bright. They will always have the fact that they beat Manchester United. It was hard second-half last night, not only for them but for me as well so my voice has gone. "
