Brighton boss Dean Wilkins locked his players in the dressing room for an hour after the 2-1 home defeat by Carlisle, Wilkins eventually commenting to the assembled press on the match :

"What has been said in there is private but I am hurt more than anything else because we were in a position to have won the game. This has been the hardest one to take for me because for me this game was in the bag. If we had gone out there and made the game ugly, we could have been so basic that we wouldn't have given Carlisle the opportunity to get back into the game.

"But we've shown so much naivety at times, especially the manner in which the two goals have been scored. If we don't show a bit more grit and determination to keep hold of a lead then we're going to find it difficult. With the amount of possession we had in the first half and the number of balls which went into their box we should have been two up."
