United right-back David Raven spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he talked about the 2-1 defeat at home to Southend United, Raven saying that he won the ball in the challenge that he was sent off for :

" The result was obviously disappointing, we knew how big a game it was and to lose 2-1 was massively disappointing for us, especially in the last minute as well. You can't put your finger on why we started badly in the first-half, the ball just wasn't sticking for us and things like that. Obviously we went in at half-time and regrouped, came out, got the goal and we're pushing and we're on top. Then the referee sent me off and it has completely changed the game.

" I'm absolutely gutted by it, I've gone into a challenge as I always do, fairly, I never try to get the man anyway, anyone who watches me will know that. I'm just devastated, I've won the ball and the referee (Anthony Taylor) has told me that I have gone over the top of the ball. It's pretty much my season finished, it's a three-match ban so it's the last two then whichever.

" I don't know what happens with an appeal, I'll have to speak to the manager (John Ward) on Monday and see what happens with that. As far as I can tell it's out of my hands, there is nothing that I can do about that. All we need to do now is get behind the lads for the rest of the season because it's still there for us, it's still in our hands and we need everyone behind us.

" The gaffer came in at the end of the game and he was trying to keep us all upbeat, obviously everyone was absolutely gutted about the result. He reminded us that it is still in our own hands and to keep going for it, so two games left and it is all to play for. Southend, they played well today, but the sending-off I think has changed the game, because as soon as you go down to ten men it's a totally different game, especially when we had the upper hand, so we're all devastated. "
