Swindon boss Danny Wilson spoke to BBC Radio Wiltshire after his side's 2-0 win over Carlisle at the County Ground, Wilson suggesting that the Robins avoided a banana skin in not losing to United today :

" Absolutely delighted, we always look at these games as potential banana skins as you know. Like I said before, we don't underestimate teams because the players in their team will cause you problems if you are not prepared for them. I thought today, particularly as the game went on, we were very in command of the game.

" We didn't look under stress at all really quite honestly. There were a couple of odd sorties and counter-attacks that we had against us and caused us at times to scramble a little bit. But overall I thought we were worth the win and I don't think we were in much trouble.

" The clean sheet was vitally important, we said at half-time that we didn't want to sit on the 1-0. But at the same time we said it would be fantastic to come in with a clean sheet and I think David (Lucas) has pulled off two saves I think in the game, one in the first half.

" But overall I think we really have minimised their chances and they have got some quality players in the team. To do that you have got to work damned hard yourself and as a team I thought we worked very hard to press them today. Maybe not as fluid and pleasing to the eye as many performances we have had but it was very professional today.

" We are capable of putting some good passing moves together and that is what pleased me more than anything. We looked in a commanding position in terms of the way that we passed the ball, we looked very, very relaxed. We looked full of confidence in that respect and very assured of each other when we passed the ball to each other. "

" So that is all you can ask for and it is difficult for the opposition at that stage, they are 2-0 down and the clock is ticking down and the opposition have got the ball at their feet. It is never easy and the 'ole' thing is a bit of fun but it is not how we want to play, we don't want to play that type of football. But we have to see games out and that is what you have got to do in those situations.

" It is a fantastic run that Charlie Austin and Billy Paynter are on. I didn't think we were possibly at our best upfront today, we have played better, particularly in the first half I think a lot of the balls that we played came off them or they weren't in the position that we would have liked them to have been in.

" The one time that we did get in that position Charlie scored and Billy with it again as well. So it is a tremendous, tremendous run and full credit to the boys, they have great belief in themselves, and they are going into every game believing they are just going to score all the time.

" Alan Sheehan's delivery was terrific as well, that is the bit of quality that you always look for. When games are tight you want a situation to develop, you hope you have got some quality in your team to get that. Otherwise it is huff and puff and you can't really put that quality in areas where you want it.

" That is why Alan is at the club, he has got fantastic delivery, he picks a pass, he reads it well, he is very, very calm and assured when is he on the ball. That in itself gives us confidence because we know we can trust him with the ball and he knows he can trust other people. But the delivery is fantastic, you don't really gamble in those situations, you know where it is going to come in, so that is why Billy gets in there and scores his goals. "

" Vincent Pericard was very unlucky not to score wasn't he, his initial movement and certainly flight of foot if you like, he has put the defender on his backside and the goal is there but they have done well to defend it. Luckily, but they have got it away as it has hit another defender and gone over the bar, on another day it might have gone in.

" Vincent has come on as a substitute and I think all the substitutes contributed today. Sean Morrison came on in place of Gordon Greer and I thought he was fantastic when he came on, he looked like he had been there all the time. Those are the types of seamless performances that you are looking for.

" Craig Easton came on for Simon Ferry who has been a little bit under the weather over the last few weeks with a bit of flu and he has come in and done great again. So that is why we are calling on the squad, we know it is going to be used more and more as we go along too.

" I wanted to put Matt Ritchie on today but circumstances prevailed and we just couldn't seem to get on him, when Gordon got injured that was the end of it with the third substitution. So I would have liked to have seen him but there is always Tuesday.

" We took Paynter off as a day off, he has scored his goal and done his job. We brought Charlie off last week so they have got to get used to that, we don't want to kill them. Particularly when we have got quality on the bench and you look at that bench today and it looked stronger than it did last week, and then stronger than the week before. "

" So we are hoping to keep adding to that area so that when they do go in the transition is seamless. Gordon came off though because he got a twist and he has got ice on it at the moment. So we will have a look at him tomorrow or Monday and have a look at him for Tuesday.

" We are always looking at the results around us and what is going on but we don't have any control over that. All we can do is control our own performances and our own results, so whatever happens around us is just a bonus, but we don't bank on them. But we do feel that there are teams that will drop points, just like we will.

" We know we will drop points at some stage but that is the time you hope everybody else does, it will happen, we are not silly enough to think it won't. But we have had a good day, most importantly we got three points which is what we set out to do and the points tally is going northwards, which is what we want.

" You have to give the club credit for doing these initiatives and this 2 for £25 ticket deal because we want this place full. I have to say that people are starting to believe, you can offer people that type of incentive when you are bottom of the league and you still won't get them in.

" So they are getting belief in us and they are going to spend a couple of quid to come and watch us. Hopefully we can get the results to entertain them and I think if we carry on in the form that we are in at this moment in time, that belief will grow even better. "
