Alex' first-team coach Steve Holland spoke to the Railwaymen's official website after his side's 1-0 defeat at home to Carlisle, Holland suggesting that his players put in the effort but just lacked that little bit of ability upfront :

"I think we should have got something out of it. With the wind we found it hard to get out of our own half in the first half. With most of our re-starts, starting with a goal kick, we found it hard to get out. We are going to do that when we are relying on the two forwards we have got, they don't quite have the physical presence that Carlisle did.

"We were finding it hard to play the football to get through. Without them creating a great deal of chances, they spent more time in our half then we did in theirs. They helped the ball on a lot, and our centre halves had to head the ball away a lot. We didn't have the ball as much as them but did, I think, create a couple of decent chances.

"Gary Roberts (on loan from Ipswich) got into a couple of good positions and put some good balls across the box, Steven Schumacher was quite close to one, which he does do. He's making runs into the box without yet managing to get on the end of something. I was quite pleased to get to almost half time at 0-0 because I felt we would perhaps have better possession and more territory in the second half but then had the chance of the game really.

"The chance for Byron (Moore), I think it was a knock back from a corner, he had two bites of the cherry and that needs to go in frankly. In the second half we had a bit more of the play, without playing as well as we have done of late.

"It was difficult out there though, it was blustery and the pitch was bumpy making it difficult to roll the ball like we'd like to. They did at times though I thought in the second half and probably had enough chances in the second half as well to get something.

"I'm not going to shout at the players as it is not for lack of effort. They played decently and in the end it was just that little bit of ability in the penalty box that made the difference. We've got some confidence from our last three performances.

"We've had a decent little spell and we tried hard to keep that going. We felt this was a game we could win and having had the Leeds result we felt even more confident. But it was a night when we needed that little bit of quality in front of goal to get a result."
