Walsall skipper Richard Taundry spoke to his club's official website and the Express and Star after his side's 2-1 win at home to Carlisle, Taundry saying the fans have been expecting such a performance since the start of the season :

" We certainly proved on Saturday that we are capable of putting in a good performance. The fans have been expecting it right from the start of the season, it's nice to show we're capable of it and we can move forward. We thoroughly deserved the win. To beat a good Carlisle side, who had been on an impressive run, is a massive bonus for us to take into our game at Sheffield Wednesday.

" We scored two well-worked goals, which we have worked hard at in training, and also felt comfortable defensively with Andy Butler coming in and making a big difference. It was a bit out of the blue but sometimes you need that to shake it up. The manager (Chris Hutchings) called the meeting and it has worked wonders.

" Things were said which have been said all season but it was all put into context. We all sat down together and the way it was said worked really well. It spurred us all on. We've gone through what's good, what's bad and what needs to be done and it was a positive reaction from all the boys. It was a fresh start for us and it was massive for us to show the fans and the staff we can do it. "
