Forest boss Colin Calderwood spoke to BBC Radio Nottingham last night about his side's 2-0 win at Brunton Park, Calderwood hoping his side can come out of the victory with a bit of momentum :

" In all honesty I probably got the formation wrong on Friday night and when we changed it got us into the game in the second-half, but it was probably something that I should have done before. So on reflection of that I didn't give the players the best opportunity to win the game, but any criticism that they had, which should be none if I'm honest, because they put their heart and soul into it but they just weren't good on the night. So we had a bad night and we have to accept it, and we accept because we are in it, and we know that we are trying our best.

" We knew, we just felt that there would be a reaction, we had a really nice meeting on Monday morning on the training ground and something just felt right about us. If Carlisle had scored the first goal of the night then people may have criticised but it was an effort of all efforts just to stay in the game. Because the game was just dictated by the weather and the pitch, and probably the team that would cross the best ball, or the team that defended crosses better.

" In the end they looked like they would cross better than us in the first-half but we defended excellently, and in the second-half we've just got a cross for a goal. It was a game, pretty open if I'm honest, but it was littered with, people will say mistakes, but you just couldn't contemplate playing in conditions like that and having to deal with balls coming to and going beyond you just because of the elements.

" Monday was just before training, just before we started warming up. It's worked out quite nice, so instead of having them in a room and looking at one or two things on the Friday, we stood around then we left and went into our warm-up and our training session feeling brighter. So we just were a little bit honest with ourselves.

" The focus though was obviously on the future and not on the Friday night if I'm honest and what can we do about it. So it was to obviously have a reaction, which we've seen, and it was a super result and it just lifts everyone. We want to gain momentum from this and step forward to Saturday which is Cheltenham. "

" I don't know about our set-piece for the goal being perfect, the first corner was perfect, and Luke (Chambers), the wind has just stopped it just as he has gone to head it. The area that we played some of our corners into in the first-half was super, but into the wind the ball would come away from the goalkeeper and that proved to be the point. He (Keiren Westwood) got caught coming for one where Garath (McCleary) jumped ahead of him and Luke, disappointed he hasn't probably scored three of four goals in the last three games, planted a really firm header and added to his tally.

" We've proved a point on this occasion, what can we do about it?, we've just got to do it, in terms of gaining promotion. So we'll be in there fighting and this weekend is another important one, we're sitting here now thinking aggrieved about Friday's performance and result and what if we could change it. We come out of here with a bit of momentum though and certainly a smile on our faces.

" Unfortunately we took a huge crowd to Doncaster and we didn't perform but in all honesty that's not the first time this season. Bournemouth was poor, the first-half at Southend was poor, I think that will happen this season and we've gone and got another voodoo against a team who are above us in the league and we've despatched them by doggedness really. What we've got to do is make sure of our play-off spot, that was the first step in reinventing ourselves this season, to make sure that we were in the play-offs this season. We've given ourselves a chance now and we've got to go and cement that on Saturday by getting a home win.

" He (Nathan Tyson) is a lot better, but the chance of putting him out in the second-half would have made it similar to the last time that he missed five or six games. We can't afford that at the minute, we took a chance really in playing him because history shows that if he plays four 90 minutes in a row he does get fatigue in his muscle. We found out last time, sometimes it's not actually a tear in his hamstring, it's a neurological thing that affects his hamstring and it goes into spasm. So hopefully we've curbed that through experience and the expertise of the medical staff.

" I don't think it's a long-term problem, because we had a heavy period with Easter and midweek games, and we've got another midweek game next Tuesday so that is a heavy period. Then we go into Saturday-Saturday-Saturday, so we've got to be careful through this period and then I think that there won't be a problem. We'll have enough time through the play-offs to make sure that he is OK.

" Kris Commons is very similar in terms of we won't risk anything to make sure that he is fit for certainly the end of the season and beyond it. We are waiting on news of the scan to see if there is a tear in his thigh muscle. If there is then there will be a slight problem with it but if there isn't then we've just got to be very careful. Because he's getting feelings of something in his muscle and we've just got to make sure that we don't play him or train him and rip that muscle. Because if that tears then he'll be out for the season. "
