Giant Lincoln centre-half Jamie McCombe spoke to The Lincolnshire Echo about the game against Carlisle at Brunton Park on Tuesday evening. Like Red Imps boss Keith Alexander, McCombe bemoaned the quality of finishing his side showed in front of goal :

"It was a difficult game, but when you come to places like Carlisle you are only going to get one or two chances. We had one when Marvin went clean through and hit the bar - and you are not going to get another chance like that against the leaders.

"The difference between the sides was the finishing. They had one chance and took it, and we just didn't do that. It was frustrating.

"We can't blame the pitch because it was the same for both sides. We now have to go for a win at Darlington to get ourselves back in the play-offs."

Keith Alexander also chatted to the Echo, commenting :

"I was disappointed to lose because we were right in the game and well capable of getting a result. Unfortunately, we conceded a sloppy goal thanks to a long ball we should have dealt with comfortably.

"We shouldn't have lost the ball in such a silly area in the first place. It's a shame because we dominated them at times. If we were not going to get a win, we should have at least drawn. I am very frustrated - and it's not often I have said that in recent weeks."
