United midfielder Chris Lumsdon spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he talked about the important victory over Notts County that leaves the Blues just two points away from sealing promotion for a second successive promotion :

" I can't really describe the relief when the goal went in. From nearly being in tears on the half-way line in frustration to just the joy when it went in was unbelievable. I think the whole game was frustrating, we didn't start well at all and I think that a big crowd and that maybe got to us, knowing what it meant. We just plugged away though and we got that bit of luck we needed.

" We got away with it in the first-half, they will have been very disappointed to go in at 1-1. To be honest, in the dressing-room we were all very disappointed in ourselves and Simmo (Paul Simpson) didn't really need to tell us what we had done wrong. He did though, everyone knew, we were just determined that even if we weren't playing well that we had to give it a real good go, make sure we were working hard, and that's what we did and luckily it's come off.

" We have to put the champagne on ice for one more week but it's nearly there now. It was a massive win today which has put us there, we're just waiting for Friday night now. It would be a bit of an anticlimax if Grimsby don't win but we'll take it any way, as long as we do it right against Mansfield. I don't think many of the lads actually know that they are playing on Friday night to be honest. We just need to go into Mansfield, working hard and hopefully get a point or a win. "
