Lummy watches his penalty
United midfielder Chris Lumsdon spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria on Friday evening as he gave his thoughts on the game at home to Rotherham tomorrow. Lumsdon commenting on refereeing and the pressures of needing to win at home due to poor form on the road :

" It's the job of the captain to go over and talk to the referee but during the game you just can't help but say something yourself sometimes, you've just got to watch what you say really. In the Conference some of the referees changed their minds but that might just have been the standard of refereeing, you know you are not going to get anywhere but if you talk to them in the right way it helps. If you are being booked then they say they will have a look at it and maybe wipe it out for the next game, so sometimes it's good to go and talk to them, but not shout at them.

" The FA Cup draw is a long journey but it's a team in a lower league so that is a bonus, we should be able to beat them, and it's not too bad a pitch or ground. We'll be looking forward to hopefully going down there, getting a couple of wins in the cup and getting Newcastle at home. I think our away form does put pressure on us to win at home because we need to pick up points, we're not doing it away from home now, but our home form is the best in the league so it is extra pressure. We love playing at home though, I think that is where we are at our strongest so we are looking forward to it.

" I know a couple of lads who play for Rotherham and them being up against it has created a good team spirit from the start, people were writing them off and that just makes you want to prove them wrong. It's like the floods, everyone said we should use that as an excuse for not going up that season but it drove us on more than anything. That's why they are flying though, they've all got a great spirit there like we have.

" I'm looking forward to it because I know that they have got a couple of good midfielders who are highly rated so I want to try and put them in their place, and hopefully show what a good midfielder I am. I'm off the penalties these days though, everyone can rest easy, there is no chance now, I even went to practice one the other day just incase but the gaffer (Neil McDonald) dragged me off the training ground.
