Cherries's on-loan goalkeeper Asmir Begovic talked to the Bournemouth Daily Echo about his mistake for United's first goal on Saturday :

"It was my mistake and I feel really bad about it. I thought I still had a yard before I had to punch it over the crossbar but lost my bearings. I should have punched it and not tried to catch it. I take full responsibility for it and I put up my hand. It was my mistake and I can't just hide from it. It was the one mistake I made in the game and it cost us a goal.

"It's always tough when you come to a new club. He (Neil Moss) is a well-established goalkeeper, he's played a lot of games and been around for a long time. It was tough at first but Mossy has been great. He's helped me out with things and we've got a pretty good working relationship. I just came here to play, not to kick the guy out of the team."

Meanwhile ex-England international and newly-appointed Cherries skipper Darren Anderton commented to the Daily Echo on the match :

I don't think we've played too badly but things just aren't going for us at the moment. I think we created more chances on Saturday than we have in any other game since I've been here but their goalkeeper was on fire and we are just making basic errors, which are proving costly.

"It's all about confidence and you get that when you win games and that's what we've got to start doing. The Brighton home game last season was a turning point so let's hope we can do the same again. I'm confident going into the game on the back of our second-half performance against Carlisle. If we keep performing like that, we're going to win more than we lose.

"I thought the fans were great, the place was rocking when we got the goal and that's what we need to do. But their third goal killed the fans and us as well. Everybody is frustrated at the moment and we are where we are and it's not good. We need results, no doubt about it, but there is a long way to go. If we can get on a run then confidence will return and maybe we can get a few breaks.

"I don't think there should be too much doom and gloom at the moment. Of course we don't want to be where we are but we've got a chance to put things right, starting against Brighton. It doesn't matter which team you pick or what formation you play because if you keep giving goals away like we have recently then you are going to struggle.

"That's what we've got to cut out and I'm confident we will. I know the players are desperate to put things right and nobody is feeling sorry for themselves. If we don't pull our fingers out, we know it's going to be a long, hard season and we're going to be in a relegation battle. The boys know that so hopefully we've got our bad spell out of the way."
