Terriers manager Andy Ritchie, who was speaking to Huddersfield's official website, talked about the match against United today. Ritchie suggesting that referee Carl Boyeson should have sent off young Carlisle striker Joe Garner :

"I was pleased with the second half performance, but not with the first. I thought we came out of the blocks in the second half and I can't have a go at them about that, apart from being wasteful in the finishing.

"We did not start the game right. We looked flat, we looked nervous, our decision making was poor and we found ourselves 2-0 down at half time. The first goal is a good example, the desire to close the players down wasn't there and that's what I am talking about. We rushed a few clearances but we passed the ball better in the second half.

"I was very disappointed with their second goal because it wasn't even a good ball into the box. It was flat and if the person at the front had been doing their job right, they would have headed it away.

"It may be a bit harsh, but I thought the lad (Joe Garner) should not have even been on the pitch to score the goal. He had two or three bad challenges and caught Nathan (Clarke) late twice and the referee hasn't booked him. That's down to interpretation.

"Second half was different. They have not had a shot on goal in the second half. But things were landing in their box too and we were not reacting quickly enough to them. We could have had two goals and Boothy (Andy Booth) at the end has headed one wide when normally he would have arced it back into the goal.

"It's not all doom and gloom. We've had a decent start and we'd have taken six points from our first three games. We do want to win every game, especially at home, but we just didn't manage to do it today. We have to take positives out of the game and I thought in the second half we were the better side.

"We have some players out, but that's no excuse. We beat Bournemouth last week and it didn't look like we missed them, so it's no excuse today. Frank (Sinclair) is very close and he's got a good chance for next week, as has Mirf (David Mirfin). Danny (Cadamarteri) I would say is the only slight doubt, but we still hope to have him back."
