United media officer and first team kitman Andy Hall spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's James Phillips ahead of Carlisle's FA Cup first round match at home to lowly Tipton Town, Hall first talking about FC United of Manchester defeating Rochdale 3-2 at Spotland yesterday evening :

"It is the FA Cup so let's get to Wembley twice, but FC United of Manchester beating Rochdale last night was a timely reminder for us, and we have got a few examples of our own going back a couple of seasons and Grays Athletic. They took us very close on two occasions, we went down to their place and they nearly put us out after a replay up here.

"We went to Everton last season and Everton must have thought as we are probably today a little bit, that this should be an easy passage into the next round for us. But, it just doesn't work that way, if you talk about 132 places between the teams, well actually there is eleven vs. eleven on the same pitch today and it is who does it right that will come through.

"Rather deliberately we have got an article in the programme today that is called David v Goliath, kindly put together by David Steele for us. It is there because it is just another little reminder that you can't take these things for granted. If you do you are going to get hurt, so I think it will hopefully be a case of the lads will come out and look to do something early and look to get on top and we will take it from there.

"The options on the wing, Ben Marshall has been coming on in the last couple of weeks and we have seen the impact he has had. He has done the same in the reserves and that is all you can ask of somebody who isn't in the starting eleven.

"He has answered the question that Greg (Abbott) asked him which was 'do you want it?' He does want it and he has shown us that. Certainly the way he played last week (against Charlton), he deserved a goal didn't he but it was chalked off for whatever reason, but there you go, we could debate that.

"Matty Robson, player of the season, goal of the season, what didn't he win last season? He will be feeling really disappointed that he hasn't been involved, so for the two wingers to be out there, two strikers in the middle (Gary Madine and Francois Zoko), it is going to be interesting to see how they fare against a team that they should really tear to pieces, but will that be the case?

"James Chester is a good strong player and we have seen how he plays, he plays like a Premier League player who is settling down into first-team football, but it is just great to see him back."
