United media officer and first team kitman Andy Hall spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's James Phillips shortly before Carlisle's League One match at home to Hartlepool, Hall first talking about the dropping of Peter Murphy from the Blues starting line-up :

" It is difficult isn't it for Greg Abbott, he has got to make these selection choices, he has got to look at it. Peter Murphy came into that job and he filled in when we lost Adam Clayton and Tom Taiwo on Saturday and he was absolutely fantastic there. He has done it before under Paul Simpson, he has played in midfield I think right across from right to left infact.

" So it is something that that lad can do, but Greg has got to pick the team, that is what he is paid to do. He has got to pick the team that he thinks will go out there and win tonight. He has got Tom Taiwo back, he has got Adam on the bench, so he has made that decision, and who are we to argue other than let's wait and see what the result is.

" A young lad in Tom Taiwo, you don't know what you are going to get but he exploded on the scene as early as pre-season training down in Colchester. The lad has rightfully kept his place to be honest with you.

" Being up for every game is one of the questions that we have to answer isn't it. Everybody is saying that we can raise ourselves against these bigger teams, it has been an accusation that has been levelled since the back end of last season.

" I think it is important that the team now, we keep saying they are on the brink of something perhaps. But we have got to get away from the brink of it, we have got to start making it happen. The only way you can make it happen is to consistently win games.

" I think the (Swindon) game a couple of weekends ago up here that shocked everybody, that was a kick up the backside it has to be said. What Greg wants is exactly what he has seen in the last few games where these teams go out there and the lads go out there and they give everything.

" There is a lot of effort, a lot of determination, if you have got that then you can start to marry it together with the skill that you have got within the side anyway. So that is the key, to get out there with the right attitude. "
