Alan LeeTerriers striker Alan Lee spoke to his club's official website after his side's 2-1 League One defeat against Carlisle at Brunton Park, Lee saying the Huddersfield players were bitterly disappointed with their performance in the game :

"We realise as players that wasn't good enough from us. We've been in great form, so we're bitterly disappointed. We'll look at ourselves, but all we can do now is come back strongly on Tuesday and work as hard as possible. We'll take one game at a time. The lads are a bit gutted at the moment, but I'd like to think there will be a big response on Tuesday night.

"The gaffer (Simon Grayson) has had a word with us, but that's sacrosanct. The lads are down, but they can't be too down as it's not often we get defeated. We just have to respond in the right way. Anything can happen still, but we know we didn't play the way we wanted to today - we were a bit scrappy.

"That wasn't the real us today and we've made it very hard for ourselves now - that's the truth of it. We know what football is like and we're not a million miles away. We still have to play Sheffield Wednesday too, but we need the results to go for us.

"I don't think I'll strike a ball as cleanly again as I did late on! I was sure it was in, but it struck the inside of the post. I was hoping it would bounce to Jordan (Rhodes), but it just missed him as well. We should have held out for a draw anyway. I don't want to come on when we're 3-0 up - I want to come on when I can make a difference and today I could do that.

"I crossed it for Lee Novak's goal and it would have been the icing on the cake to get the winner, but it wasn't to be. I was happy with my own impact, but devastated at the late goal. I've scored a couple of goals off the bench and it's not about personal ambition for me - I'll do whatever the gaffer wants. Three points are all that matter to me."
