Seagulls centre-half Adam El-Abd
Seagulls defender Adam El-Abd spoke to his club's official website and the Brighton Argus after the Albion drew 0-0 against Carlisle at Brunton Park, El-Abd happy to take a point from the game :

" It's a good result considering the way that we played because we were not great first half. We just didn't get going and we were fortunate not to be a goal down, but we stuck together and that is a good sign for the season. We did better in the second half and could have nicked it at the end, but we are happy with a draw.

" It's important that we can get something from games when we are not at our best. We've a big game on Tuesday at Plymouth, and if we can take the positives from today and improve on the negatives I'm sure we'll come away with the result to put us towards the top of the table.

" We have got a massive togetherness as a group now. We had it after the gaffer (Gus Poyet) had come in at the back end of last season but this season it is quite clear for everyone to see. We are prepared to dig in as one and grind out results. The pre-season trip to Portugal was massive for us. It was great for training and we worked really hard out there but it also brought us close as a group. It was a very good exercise.

" Personally I just turn up and take each day as it comes. I try not to think about things too much because it just plays on your mind and that doesn't help. When I get picked I give my all for the team, but if I'm not selected I take it on the chin and work hard to get my place back the next week.

" I've changed since I was younger: I used to worry about things like that, but now I concentrate on turning up to give my best. If I'm picked then great but if not I will turn up the following Monday and give it my best shot that week in training."
