Wanderers manager Gary Waddock spoke to BBC Three Counties Radio and the Buckinghamshire Advertiser ahead of his side's League One game against Carlisle at Adams Park tomorrow afternoon, Waddock saying his players need to respond to the challenge come three o'clock :

" Carlisle have got a good mix of experience and youth, so we know how big a test it will be again, but we have got to stand up to the challenge. The best place for us to show a response to everybody is on a matchday and that will be Saturday at three o'clock. That is when it counts, that is when everything has got to be right because we need to start winning games and picking up points.

" Ian Harte has had a tremendous season in terms of goal return from his position and there is no doubt that he is an expert at set-pieces. We have to make sure we are disciplined in our defending and not give away anything needless around the box because we could get punished. But it is not just him that we have to be aware of because they have a very experienced side. They are having a good season and it is going to be a hard game for us.

" The long-term injuries remain out, obviously Gareth Ainsworth serves his last game of his suspension, but everybody else is available for selection. There are one or two areas and one or two positions that we can look at and it is about the group, the whole group. We will pick a team to win the game on Saturday, it is as simple as that, you take one game at a time and we will pick a team that we feel will go out there and give a good account of itself.

" Matt Phillips took his opportunity last weekend, he came on in a game where we needed to go forward and get some goals. He came up with two goals, which is a good return for him, so he is definitely in the frame. Luke Oliver needs to be playing first team football, reserve team football is no good for any senior player really you know. We didn't use him in the last game and he didn't travel so he is going up and joining Peter Taylor again (at Bradford) to get him some first-team action. "

" Adam Hinshelwood is available now, he has got over the injury problem so that gives us an extra central defender as well. So that has allowed us to send Luke out. Josh Payne did well in his first few games and then we got bodies back, midfield players back as well. It is a case of allowing him to go back to West Ham and obviously we thank him for the work that he did while he was here and we wish him good luck for the future.

" You are only as good as your last game and we did well leading up to the Stockport game, the players performed reasonably well, we got some good results, but you are only as good as your last game so we will have to wait and see on that. We missed a real opportunity last week to get closer to the teams above us.

" Games are running out. We can't keep saying it, we have actually got to win games to get ourselves out of the position we are in. It is about how you respond to disappointments. Last week was a major setback but we have to move on and not dwell on it too much. In the past we have responded well to defeats so we need to bounce back and win.

" The fans have been brilliant here, they have got right behind the team. Our last home games the atmosphere has been excellent. So obviously with Gareth going into the crowd as well on Saturday it will throw up some interest. So we are looking for again the help of our home fans to get right behind the team. "
