Wanderers manager Gary Waddock spoke to BBC Three Counties Radio on the way up to Cumbria for his side's League One match against Carlisle at Brunton Park tomorrow, Waddock hoping his team can keep picking up points after three wins in their last four games :

" We are on our way up there now, we are doing the second part of the journey now. We stopped off at Stoke who allowed us to do some training at their training ground. A long journey and a difficult game, they are in good form as well so if we can get anything from the game it will be great. We just want to continue picking up points, we have had a decent couple of games in terms of picking up points so we would like that to continue.

" No game is straightforward, it is a very difficult league and there are some good sides in it. Carlisle have got some good results and they are in good form as well. But we are on the back of a couple of good results as well so it could be a good game.

" Graham Kavanagh and Ian Harte are specialists on free-kicks and they have got a lot of experience in their side. So we have got to make sure we come up here and give a good account of ourselves obviously, but Kavanagh has had a great career so we will have to keep an eye on him.

" We are very much the same as last week with injuries, Gareth Ainsworth hasn't travelled, Tommy Doherty has so we are getting close to the whole group back again. Chris Westwood has come in and he has done well, he scored again which is good, and obviously Matt Bloomfield as well on the bench and he is ready and raring to go. So we have got competition which is very good and healthy for the squad.

" We are looking to extend John Akinde's loan if we can, we are in the process of talking to Bristol City. He was strong and powerful last week and it is unfortunate that he picked up the injury in his first game. But obviously he came to us to get games and get his match fitness up so we are hopeful we can extend that loan period. "

" Injuries are part and parcel of football whether they happen in a match or on the training field. We have just got to get on with it. I want the training to be of a high tempo and you do run the risk of picking up injuries. But we will not change the style of our training because we want to take that into a game situation.

" We want to train at a good tempo and everything that we do is relevant to the game and match situation. It's how I have always done it. I want teams that are fit and strong and I think we look that at the moment.

" Defensively we've looked solid but we've also looked good in our attacking play. In the game last weekend against Stockport we created a lot of chances and it would have been nice if we'd taken a few more of them but we're pleased to have come out on top.

"We've worked hard on the traning ground on getting the right balance between defence and attack and the lads have taken that into game situations and as long as we keep on picking up points, we'll be more than happy with that.

" The key to it for us is keeping the momentum going, if we can continue picking up results and keep the momentum going over a busy and hectic time from now over Christmas and New Year. We need to continue picking up points and get ourselves away from the position we are in at the moment.

" A lot of teams are on similar points and if you can go on a run of wins you can get close to that middle group and beyond. It's a good return recently but those points are now in the bag and we've got to build on that. We want to go up there, get some points and if we can put in a performance in as well then great. Martin (Kuhl) and I like to do things a certain way, we don't want to collect lucky victories - we want to win in style."
