Former United striker Vincent Pericard spoke to the Swindon Advertiser ahead of his new side's League One game against Carlisle at the County Ground tomorrow, Pericard saying the Blues gave him the chance to rediscover his confidence :

"Before joining Carlisle I was kind of in trouble, having just been released by Stoke. My morale and confidence were low but they gave me the chance to rediscover my football and enjoy myself. I needed them as much as they needed me.

"They did what they told me they would - getting me back playing football and enjoying football. And I did what I said I would do, which was scoring goals. It was a win-win situation. I will never forget that place and what they have done for me, and I will always be grateful.

"I've been looking forward to this one since I signed for Swindon. It will be good to see friends again, but making sure we win is the most important thing. It would be a great achievement to score because obviously I need to get scoring for Swindon, and doing that against Carlisle would be nice. But I have a lot of respect for what Carlisle did for me, so I won't celebrate if that happens.

"With their win against MK Dons they will be high on confidence and will come here, not worry, and just play their game. They are strong in the middle, strong at the back and will put in plenty of shots and crosses on us.

"Matthew Robson with his pace on the left will be used a lot, and then in the middle you have the experience of (Graham) Kavanagh alongside the youngster (Adam) Clayton, who has improved a lot.

"Carlisle can be dangerous and it will be a very tough one for us, but we want to win every game because we are trying to create space from the teams behind us. Every home game is very crucial and very important and this one is no different."
