Frazer Richardson
Saints right-back Frazer Richardson spoke to his club's official website ahead of his side's League One match against Carlisle at Brunton Park tomorrow, Richardson understandably saying promotion is the main aim for Southampton this season :

" We're a big a club first and foremost which is great. The stadium is unbelievable, we've got a great training centre here and a great bunch of lads too, so hopefully it will all come together and everyone will be pushing in the same direction which is to get promoted this season, as that's the main aim, especially with the team that we've got.

" Carlisle have got some pacey wingers and a good striker in (Gary) Madine who scored a few in the FA Cup game, but if we nullify their threats and just concentrate on our own game, then I'm sure that we should do well. I know that they're always a tough team to beat. You know that when you go to their place you're always going to get a very difficult game.

" So, we're going into it with the mentality that we're going to get a very tough game on Saturday, but hopefully if we're patient enough then we'll wear then down and then run over the top of them. I know it's a cliché, but winning does breed confidence and that's a big thing. We're on a good run at the minute and we just want to keep that going. "

Meanwhile Saints attacking midfielder Adam Lallana told his club's official website :

" We've got a big period coming up. It's hard getting into the top six, but it's even harder staying there so we've just got to keep taking it game by game. We've got the long trip to Carlisle, but the lads are relishing it, and we go into it full of confidence. "

In team news for the Saints, they only have one potential problem before tomorrow's game, that being the participation of right-back Danny Butterfield. The former Crystal Palace defender having returned to training earlier this week after missing Southampton's last three matches with a calf injury.

The referee for tomorrow afternoon's match is Karl Evans from Leigh, and he will be assisted down the lines by Michael Denton from Todmorden on the Lancashire/West Yorkshire border and Philip Dermott from Warrington. Meanwhile the fourth official is Paul Hodskinson from Bamber Bridge near Preston.
