Valiants winger Jennison Myrie-Williams spoke to his club’s official website ahead of his side’s League One match against Carlisle at Brunton Park tomorrow afternoon, the former United-loanee enjoying the current Vale formation:

“I think I like playing with two wingers, it kind of takes the pressure off me in a sense, maybe the manager thinks a little bit differently but whether it’s two wingers or one winger we’ve got to go out there and try to create things. It’s frustrating being double-marked, but you’ve got to take it as a compliment and try and find different ways and avenues to go down. If there are three players on me then there are a lot of other people spare on my team.

“It’s always important to get into double figures in assists and goals, we’ve only had a few games really, five or six games we’ve played so far so there’s a long way to go. Last season we had a good away record and that put us in good shape to get promoted, I am really looking forward to the game. I’m sure if we go there with the right attitude and confidence from Tuesday I am sure we will be alright.

“I haven’t looked at Carlisle’s start to the season, I always expect them to be on top of their game because then you don’t take anything for granted and you go out there give your best. I am sure it will be a tough game. I think if we go there with the right attitude I am sure we’ll get the right result.”

In team news for the visitors tomorrow they have two absentees in Daniel Jones and Robert Taylor. Left-back Jones is sidelined with a groin strain, while right-sided wide-man Taylor is still working his way back to full fitness following an Achilles tendon injury. In better news for Vale boss Micky Adams though, striker Gavin Tomlin could come back into the reckoning following recent ankle and hamstring problems.

The referee for tomorrow's match is Mark Brown from Hull and he will be assisted down the lines by Paul Marsden from Leyland and Tony Peart from Northallerton. Meanwhile the fourth official is Graham Fyvie from Sunderland.
