City skipper Grant Holt
Norwich captain Grant Hot spoke to his club's official website and the pink 'un about his side's match against Carlisle at Brunton Park tomorrow, Holt looking forward to playing against his hometown club with City also in good form :

"We're doing well at the moment and I think winning games gives you that belief. Wins always build that momentum. It's a lot easier when you're winning than when you're losing and we know we've got a squad good enough and we've got the belief to go on now, get a run.

"We know we weren't happy with the situation we were in three of four weeks ago, but now it's looking a lot rosier, we've got games coming up which are big - but we know we can win. Obviously we've seen on Tuesday what a good squad we've got, a few of us who were injured were not there but the lads went down there and did a great job - that's another win and we've just got to keep it going now.

"We've got some good young lads and when it comes to training a lot of them are involved with us, which is great for the club and great for the youth set-up to see all the players coming through. With Korey (Smith) playing in the team and Luke (Daley) having a good run, the other younger lads are looking at that and thinking 'I want to be doing that' and obviously the manager (Paul Lambert) doesn't worry about how old you are, if you're good enough you're in.

"There's been a few knocks in the squad but I think that comes as part and parcel with the way we're playing at the moment. The lads are all getting stuck in and working hard for the team but I'm sure a lot of lads will be fighting to get out of the treatment room before the weekend. We had a little look at my injury on Thursday morning and had a run-out but hopefully everything is fine. It was just a knock and I've been with the physios this week trying to get it down.

"I've done the journey to Carlisle once or twice! I know how long and boring it can be but we get used to it, being down in Norwich a lot of journeys are three or four hours. I am sure there be a few of them in the crowd giving me a bit of stick but that's just part of football. I'm just looking to go up there do my job and get us three points. I might get a chance to see a few of my brothers - I'm sure they'll be in the crowd giving us a bit of stick when I'm warming up, but that's part and parcel of football.

"We want three points from every game it doesn't matter if it's home or away. We know we've been away from home and produced good performances and not always got our reward so hopefully we go up there and finally get what we deserve. We have picked points up on the road, it's just a case that we haven't been getting wins.

"If you look at the Gillingham game the other week (in the league), for 30 minutes we absolutely battered them, the goalie (Fraser Forster) gets sent off, the decision goes against us. But we don't give up, we were 1-0 down, we come back to 1-1 and we should've won it at the end. That shows the desire and the team spirit we've got and I'm sure Carlisle won't be looking forward to us going up there."

In team news for City, the club are very hopeful that tomorrow's pantomime villain, in striker Grant Holt, will not be out with a knock to the shin, Canaries boss Paul Lambert commenting : " I'm hopeful Grant Holt will fit, I will see how he is feeling this morning, he is a big player for us and he has done great since he has been here." Right-back Jon Otsemobor (hamstring) and central midfielder Darel Russell (neck) are rated much more in the 50-50 bracket ahead of the game though.

Definitely out of action however is 18-year old goalkeeper Declan Rudd who is away in Slovenia on England under-19 duty, while also absent on this international weekend is midfielder Stephen Hughes, the former Rangers man making the rather lengthy trip to Japan for Scotland's friendly tomorrow.

With Rudd away from Carrow Road, City are light on goalkeepers tomorrow and may not name one on the bench, Jed Steer having a broken thumb while Michael Theoklitis was disciplined in midweek for turning up too late to catch the bus for Norwich's JPT tie away to Gillingham.

Elsewhere four Canaries are more the victims of longer term problems, the quartet being defenders Michael Spillane and Michael Nelson, and midfielders Matt Gill and Owain Tudur Jones. Spillane would have been missing anyway after withdrawing from the Republic of Ireland under-21 squad with a hamstring injury but Nelson is out with ankle ligament damage. Gill meanwhile has got a knee injury and Welshman Tudur Jones is sidelined with a calf muscle pull.

The referee for tomorrow's match is David Foster from Newcastle, and he will be assisted down the lines by Matthew Bristow from Manchester and Lee Metcalfe from Preston. Meanwhile the fourth official is Darren Handley from Wigan.
